Oldboy Steelbook (Plain Archives Exclusive #???) (Korea)

Since we don't need much to start a thread, these days, I figured I would post this. Just says the re-re-release will be "produced by PA", not sure if that will include a steelbook. I think it will be quite difficult to top the Play.com steelbook, but I would love to see PA attempt it!

Korean director Park Chan-wook (“Stoker”) will release a new Blu-ray edition of the digitally remastered version of his 2003 cult film, “Oldboy.” The digitally remastered “Oldboy” was re-released last year to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Blu-ray will be released in March. The new Blu-ray edition, to be produced by Plain Archive, will include a documentary featuring interviews with actors Choi Min-sik, Yoo Ji-tae and Yoo Yeon-seok who is enjoying a surge in popularity in Korea.Interviews with crew and industry professionals discussing “Oldboy’s” achievements in the last 10 years will also be included, says Baek Jun-O, CEO of Plain Archive. Shooting for the documentary has begun at the Busan Intl. Film Festival. The Blu-ray edition will also include a picture book of stills from the film’s shoot.

Doubt it's speculation on a steelbook release, just depends on timing, based on:

It was the first I had heard about it, so I didn't want the OP to sound too definitive, as I wasn't really sure.
Sounds like it's a done deal then, just a matter of when in 2015?

I'm sure Liam Neozen will change the title as needed when more info becomes available.

Assuming ZDT is next in line, hopefully we might get some info on this once that title is being shipped out. Devil/Master/ZDT/Oldboy.....

They are working on it and have been for awhile now though, I've heard from a very reliable source. It's probably going to be the steelbook of the year honestly.

I understand that this is the steel forum, but it's depressing that people are drooling over a imagined/proposed steel more than the actual remaster that should trump past mediocre releases.

Yes, I clicked on this thread for updates, as I've been waiting for this (the remaster) for a long time.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure that out. Can you give us a hint at least?

Just kidding, I know what you mean, but I think you would find more like-minded members in the film's discussion thread honestly.

From the sounds of it, we're going to be getting the best Old Boy blu-ray and packaging to date this year, I just hope they have English (as well as other languages) subtitles for the new commentary track.

It should be pointed out that they posted a photo some months back from PCW's office, where they were conducting an interview.

Been waiting for this since I heard about it way back in 2013 or so.
