Yep, fairy tale adventures doesn't happen twice in the lifetime of a character.
The second story it's always less relevant than the first.
If they have a great story to tell they should've let new characters live through it.

While I agree with you that Tangled was better, I simply don't agree with you about Frozen. Even though Tangled would make for a better sequel hypothetically, there's no doubt that a Frozen sequel is a better financial decision, and I'm sure they have some great ideas for Olaf and the gang. In this sense, it can't possibly be a roll of the eyes for me. There isn't a battle between Tangled and Frozen, after all.

Good grief, what a landmine of a thread. Keep it civil and respectful people. No name calling, personal verbal attacks, etc. Is it really so hard to stop and think and re-read what you write before hitting submit.? Stop taking every disagreement with your postion to extremes, that is what blows up these types of threads. If anyone gets out of line, time outs will be issued. Be nice to each other, kiddies.

I'll make this simple. If it gets out of hand again the thread will be gone.

You are only allowed to discuss religion and politics when it is the main topic of a specific movie. Keep in mind that all people are different and have different beliefs, so be respectful to each other. Stay on topic and make sure what you say is directly related to the movie.

whoa, what did I miss??

I'm guessing it was about the petition for the love interest, so nevermind, that's all I will say.

ANYWAY..,
not a fan of the whole sequel idea. The first I enjoyed very much, but wasn't quite worth the phenomenon it became. Just shows that people missed Disney musicals. Glad to see them make a comeback, but how about keeping the original ones coming instead of more sequels?

Well, other than the Platinum Edition of Sleeping Beauty, I'm pretty sure it's the only animated Disney title I own.

Honestly, I'm not particularly excited about it either. But I'll be there to see it in theaters, of course.

But we have two original musicals in the pipeline with Moana and Gigantic, so it doesn't seem like we have to worry too much about it in that respect. And I'm interested to see how Pixar fares with Coco, which is also reportedly going to be a musical.

Pretty much every movie that's made over a billion dollars at the box office has gotten some sort of followup with the lone exception of Titanic. Even Dark Knight Rises if you count WB reintroducing Batman on the bigscreen less than 4 years later.

So we probably will get a Zootopia sequel in addition to Frozen 2.

I've been meaning to grab the original Blu-Ray for Sleeping Beauty off Amazon, but keep forgetting. I'm also missing 101 Dalmatians and Bambi; my interest has waned for Lady and the Tramp or Snow White.

I have the Platinum Ed. of Snow White, but it's on DVD. I figured, "What's the likelihood I'll ever watch it again?" So I didn't bother upgrading.

I completely agree. The movie was overall very average when it comes to story. Sure it was fun and entertaining, but the music really helped make the movie sell, not the story plots. Original movies will be far better then making a sequel to an average story. If the music is not on the same level, the sequel will fail.

I gotta say that, in my case anyways, I wasn't buying Frozen because I was looking for an complex, thought-provoking plot. I wanted it because lots of people said it was fun (it was), had some funny moments and characters (it did), and some memorable songs (there were).

It just seemed like an odd mess of a film to me. Though I only watched it once, maybe I need to give it another run.

The Mickey short was excellent though

It was a mess. Hyped beyond recognition due to a few admittedy catchy showtunes, but nothing warranting the outpouring of adulation it got. Tangled was the superior film, and less annoying too.

I agree that it was a lot of fun and had some good songs. I was just saying that in my opinion, the overall movie was not exceptional when compared to the love it receives.
