Darker Than Black season 1 is getting a Blu-ray here in the U.S. from Funimation!

This is not retailer exclusive. It is limited to 5000 units.

Great news. Didn't care much for DTB2 (the OVA was great though), but I really enjoyed the first one.

Too much for me to upgrade. Wanted it on BD but will live with the DVD. Saving my money for stuff like GITS BDs.

Noooo! Why did this have to happen now... really didnt want to spend anything on TV shows for the next month. Gonna have to pull the trigger since I dont have it.

Yep pretty much 1 out of every 4 packages I order from them come damaged.
They continue to us the thin bubble mailers which provide no protection at all.
And I don't want to hear well it isn't Amazon's fault it is the carrier. Well you know what then that is Amazon's fault. Find a carrier that doesn't destroy my stuff every single time then.

Sad that I get better stuff from Hastings and handled by USPS.

I don't think I would ever order a set like this one from Amazon.

I've decided to pass on this set until it comes out in a cheaper, saner configuration. My DVD set will have to hold me over.

I'm just gonna have to get a 3 disc case and hopefully there's a custom cover I can print up for it after I get the replacement.

Thats what I was worried about. Amazon takes forever in figuring things out. THought I would take a chance and put an order in. Its probably gone. I still have some hope. How long does it take for amazon to cancel an order? And what if you used a gift card?

So, I have been checking amazon daily to see if DTB s1 came back in stock. Yesterday it said In Stock in March 3rd. I go back today and it says Temporarily OOS. Not sure if amazon made a booboo. Or the copies thet got in are already going to be shipped out. I put my order in on Febuary 4th. My order statement still says Pending shipping date. Very worried now since its OOP.

Just order from Rightstuf.com. They have it in stock. Bit more expensive but a guaranteed copy. Better to not miss out.

This was what I did. Had it in about 3 days and no damage to the package or discs. It was about $20 more, but better that now than $200 down the line.

I might do just that. I already have it on DVD and fits in the ltd season 2 set I was able to snag. But I really would like to have it on blu-ray. I was trying not to spend too much at the moment as I just purchase Fate: UBW

Amazon is very unreliable on out-of-print media items like Darker Than Black. I have a hunch they aren't aware it's not coming back. They will let the orders sit in their system for months before eventually canceling them.

Pretty much, and it's probably gone, it's been gone for like 2 months. Heck, I've seen them think some nearly 10 year old ADV singles would come back in-stock, like UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie Volume 3.

Was lucky enough to snag a copy of Darker than Black Premium edition off amazon for 48.99 plus shipping. Got it in the mail today. New but some damage to the box, which I expected. Corner and side binding a little bent. Just glad to get a copy. I honestly hate the packaging So flimpsy and feels cheap. Plus I dislike how the blurays sit in the package. But I am happy to have it on bluray. Will probably move the discs to a seperate case though.
