$20!

Nah, I should rent first. 60's spies are up my alley but you never know...

$15!

Ooh, tempting, but still I should really rent it. Bought a lot this month already.

$10!

Fine, I'll buy your damn movie!

I got it when it was $14.99, money well spent. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot, It was respectful to the show it was based on.

Or be a Best Buy Elite Plus member, buy it at 14.99, then get a price adjustment a month later.

10 dollars at Target, and I bit the hook.

Guy Ritchie's movies are hit-and-miss with me, but this one looks like a fun throwback to older flicks like Our Man Flint, In Like Flint, and, of course, the 1960s Bond. I'm also a big fan of Alicia Vikander.

I'm not expecting much, aside from some eye candy, but this one looks like great eye candy.

We're having a live tweet / DVD watch party for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. tonight at 9pm EST. Here's the relevant info on the #Bond_age_ page if anyone's interested in tuning in and/or watching:

This morning, I got Walmart to PM both The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation, for $9.99 ea.

Two good movies, at a dirt cheap price.
WIN/WIN

Holy crap, I loved this movie! Such style, such fun, such pacing! Looked gorgeous on BD too. This and Kingsman in the same year is a real boon for 60's style fun spy movies. Shame this didn't make enough to warrant a sequel.

This movie was great. Way better than Kingsman (which I didn't like very much).

It was fun but a bit empty. I hope they are able to come up with a sequel though, because the series has so much potential. But first Guy Ritchie needs to make Sherlock Holmes 3.

I agree, it's a shame more people didn't get out to see this when it was showing in theatres.

I had a private screening, by that I mean I was the only person in the theatre when I went to see it and it was only the second weekend.

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit more then Mission Impossible R.N. which I'd watched the previous week.

Yeah I'd put UNCLE, Kingsman and Rogue Nation on about even keel. Spectre was the big disappointment, for me personally.

I read some reviews of UNCLE after watching it last night and it's funny how many complain about the "abrasive" or "overpowering" music. I was freaking thrilled watching the movie that it actually used music and melody, unlike most movies now-a-days which go solely for Zimmer-esque ambient stuff.

Damn right...Daniel Pemberton's UNCLE score was my favorite and most-spinned soundtrack of 2015. A total love letter to 60's Lalo Schifrin.

I saw more Ennio Morricone than I did Schifrin with the score at times but never the less, I adored this film's soundtrack.

I think one of the downfalls was that the show hasn't really kept its brand in peoples mouths over the years.

The Avengers always stayed around.
The Saint had Roger Moore to remind us, and it played in syndication in the late 80's.
Mission Impossible is Mission Impossible.
Shit...even the Prisoner kept its cult buzz through the decades.

I grew up watching many 60's TV in syndication and UNCLE was sporadic in TV.

Folks just aren't familiar w/ it....IMO.

To a degree its kinda cool because its not too weighed down by the mythology, giving a little more space for interpretation and a buffer from fans that just want to see the same thing done on screen.

Good call. I became introduced to UNCLE in the early 90s when a cable station played the 8 "movies" in rotation, I don't think I've ever seen the actual series re-run on TV.

I'll join in on the love fest for this. I mean, I didn't love it necessarily. But I really did enjoy it, much more than I was expecting to. Would definitely rather spend more time with these folks than the people left over at the end of Kingsman, but I suppose the market has spoken...
