Mammoth vs. Rhinos is possibly the worst thing ever in videogaming.
A review? I don't know. It's like FarCry 4, but prehistoric. So no guns and no vehicles. And you can control animals. And mammoth vs. rhinos is the worst ever. I had to quit. |

I'll get over it. It was going along fine, a bit slow paced, but fine. Then I interacted with something and turned into a mammoth and had to fight waves of rhinos, and if you died, you had to start with the first wave. And mammoths apparently suck at fighting rhinos.

![]() I love the environments and I'm pretty impressed with the graphics mate, critics have complained that there isn't enough variety in the weapons but you got to remember that this game is based around the stone age and you have to make your own weapons as you go along. So overall I like the game lol it's different from all the other shooters out there so its a breath of fresh air to play something that doesn't have guns. I shall play a bit more this evening when the kids are in bed and I shall keep u informed about the game. ![]() Are you going to get the game now or will you wait until it comes down in price? |

I got my OWL & a few camps. Best advise, ignore everything & get your OWL right away & then do the very next mission which is learn to tame animals. (Not all are tameable) First one ya get is a basic Wolf but he/she is kick-@ss & I like how you can fast travel, & your tamed ally will be right there when you arrive.
![]() Games gonna have some feels for sure if you get attached to one. While mine is ok, the game does give you a pop-up info screen on possible outcomes with your beasts. Game does lack "polish" Maybe they thought they could get away with pixelated map mini-huds & choppy Minecraft graphical moments but at least those 2 are not constantly evident & kudos for character & beast models looking awesome. Gameplay, no issues. None. Simple, intuitive & responsive all around. |

I've been playing it 2 nights now and really like it. Do a lot of supply collecting. You need them to make more clubs, arrows, spears, etc. You also use the supplies to upgrade you village.
Using the club to hunt deer and goats is a lot fun. I could do that alone for hours. You get the white wolf as a companion pretty early on and can have it attack people while you just watch from the bushes. You just point at who to attack next. Overall...it feels just like a Far Cry game which is something I like. |

![]() How giant would you say the game is? Is it all open world or separated into different sections that need to be completed one at a time to unlock the other one? I'm going to buy it soon once I finish up some other obligations that are taking up my free time. Your review definitely helps, thanks! ![]() Quote:

To answer some other things.
As far as I can tell the world is fully open from the outset. But difficulty limits your advance. Your owl has limited range and a pretty long cooldown that you can bring down to 40 seconds with upgrades. I don't know why there are complaints about weapon varieties. You have clubs, two types, that can be thrown. Spears, that can be thrown. Two sizes of bows. All three can be used with fire. A sling. Bee bombs. Shards (throwing knives). Poison. Traps. An owl. A four legged companion that bites. And a ridden beast that is an effective tank. I guess if there are no guns, there is no variety. It interesting. I wonder if Ubisoft recognized that a lot of gamers were using animal baits to initiate stronghold attacks, as I was, leading to the idea to use tame animals as weapons instead of just baiting them. I have yet to use a bait for anything but taming an animal. |

I did that quite a bit in 3 & 4. It was fun to let an animal destroy the camp while I sit and watch the chaos. In 4 you can command the tiger while you are in the Shangri La areas which reminds me of the ability in Primal. |

Maybe later in the game they'll allow longer flying times for the Owl. Bow and Arrows are good enough for me and was the main way I played Skyrim. |
