I will give it another go from the start at some stage.
It's a show that you really need to stick with.

First few episodes are kind of rocky, but once it hits its groove it's pretty amazing.

First episode grabbed me and it never let go, I never thought it started off rocky at all.

I really enjoyed the first season and I'm looking forward to the new season (fingers crossed for late 2018, maybe). So, we know they're focusing on the Atlanta Child Murders for the second season. I've read that there's a five season bible that was created for the series. It seems like BTK might be the focus, then, of the fifth and final season. Any speculation on what seasons three and four might dramatize?

She was gorgeous in this (not that she isn't always but I think it was the hair style that made it even more so)

Torv has been in so little since Fringe went off the air that I was delighted to see her again, especially in pseudo-Olivia Dunham mode. Agreed that the 70's hairstyling and clothing suited her.

I don't think season 2 will premiere this year. Filming starts at the end of April and is slated to last till December (the first season was filmed between May 2016 and February 2017 and premiered in October 2017).

I really like this Edmund Kemper fellow.

He reminds me a lot of myself.

...because who hasn't thought about receiving oral gratification from their mother's decapitated head?

So you think that school principle was really a
[Show spoiler]pedophile?

...I wonder if they'll ever come back to that in season 2.

The female consultant is starting to get on my nerves.

So is that punk snitch they brought on board to transcribe the tapes.

...I'd like to see him locked in a cell with Richard Speck for 15 minutes.

I've had the book on my shelf for at least 12 years...need to get around to reading it.

Screw Richard Speck. Lock him up with Bradley Thomas from Cell 99 and you won't need 15 mins...

Heading to Southern Georgia, “Mindhunter” season two will focus on the infamous Atlanta child murders of the late 1970s and early 80s, which featured the relatively uncommon case of an African-American serial killer —in real life, Wayne Williams, who was tried, convicted, and sentenced to life imprisonment for killing two adult men, but never convicted of the deaths of twenty three murders of young children (though it’s unclear how close to the real events the show will hew). Stars Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv will all return.

Meanwhile, Fincher has found his directors for the follow-up season and sources tell us there are only three filmmakers scheduled this time; Fincher himself directing the premiere and finale episodes like he did in season one, Andrew Dominik (“The Assassination of Jesse James,” “Killing Me Softly”) will helm another two, and filmmaker Carl Franklin (“Devil In A Blue Dress,” “One False Move”), who’s become something of a journeyman director on TV in recent years (“House Of Cards,” ” The Leftovers,” “13 Reasons Why,” “Vinyl” and more), will direct the rest and bulk of the show.

Last I heard, there were only eight episodes this season; the inaugural one, which featured four filmmakers — Asif Kapadia, Tobias Lindholm, Andrew Douglas and Fincher — had ten.

Fincher is currently in Pittsburgh doing prep on season two which starts at the end of the month. It should keep him busy for most of the year and regardless, I’m told Netflix intends to hold it for an early 2019 release. The “Mindhunter” filmmaker directed all the reshoots for every episode of season one and he’ll be doing the same for season two; they’ll be baking in time for that as well.
Source.

Damn, Dominik directing two episodes is some amazing news.

Three solid directors and a very intriguing storyline, given some of the assumptions made while profiling in the first season.

Carl Franklin did some extraordinary episodes of The Leftovers. Nice choice.
