Word is that it took Panasonic 3 Boeing 747's to transport the 3 150" plasmas that are currently displayed at CES. Only one per plane fit in the middle of the cargo area while placed in their protective crates. Now that's impressive.

I think I heard the 150" would cost 100K, was 11' wide and 6' tall. I think I heard it weighed 500lbs. The only tv that can show a person actual size. I saw the 103" model when it was on tour. A steal at only 70K. I remember one of the reps saying something like they can only make like 100 a year or something and that they almost always have about 30 on backorder. I too don't have a wall big enough. I'm happy with my XBR4 right now.

I concur, a projector is less a hassel, Picture quality is just as a good, and the price is 1/16. Those big plasma screen tvs are too big that it just wouldn't make any sense for even millionaires who live in mansions to consider. They would be better off with a 10k projector that fills 300 inchs of the wall.

What a waste of money....
You could spend half that on a nice projector and a screen and be able to go bigger then that and not need to re-enforce your walls or pay a 747 to deliver it... Not to mention, that you could also get an auto-adjusting anamorphic lens and a motorized masking system and be able to enjoy all of your movies in their OAR without any borders.... For 50,000 you could get yourself a kick ass projector, and a nice lens, a good video processor, and a 200 inch 2.35:1 screen that would offer amazing PQ with or without the lights on.... Front Projectors rock, end of story. |

Yes but try setting all that shit up in 200 boardrooms across the country, or in 500 Marriot lobby's. That's what this is for, just like the 103" was. It sold very well for instances like that. It's not for a home theater. |

C'mon guys we all know its not really made for home theatre. That 150" monster must weigh a whole friggin lot for an average consumer to go to a store and pick it up. Kudos to Panasonic for making it though. It's awesome! Last edited by all_blu_man; 01-11-2008 at 03:42 PM. |
