It's an "alternative fact" that Scream Factory's Blu-ray is and will be the very best home video presentation of this movie ever. Still, I would be interested to see what Arrow's edition will be like in terms of PQ and I assume exclusive extras.

Great news. Have the Shout release and I'll be all over this. Some flicks are just worthy of multiple-dips.

Hopefully there's some sort of limited run deluxe edition with a bunch of extra gubbins thrown in.

This is a fave of mine. Would be amazing if they could somehow include it, but if they did, it would probably only be a matter of time before Pingu decided to lawyer up.

Noot-noot, indeed.

The Pingu version ain't gonna happen, but the cat remake shouldn't cause any trouble.

I originally made this video under the title "Pingu's THE THING" but I was forced to take it down by Hit Entertainment who own the Pingu brand. So I have remade it because it was the most amazing response I have had from a video with a million hits in 2 weeks and even made national news papers.

Lee Hardcastle's work has been featured before on Blu-ray. His claymation remake of The Raid is a bonus feature on the Blu-ray.

Own the Collector's Edition Non-Anamorphic DVD cause it has the isolated score via documentary, the HD DVD, customized BD25, and the UK BD.
I trust Arrow more than I do Scream Factory currently on how they handle releases.

I'm mainly just hoping they have a tiered system of expenses that allows you to get all the discs without any white elephants. IE, I hope they do something like the HG Lewis sets instead of the currently announced Phantasm set (though they very well could end up having a non-ball edition of that which still has all the discs).

I was happy with the Shout Factory version until I saw this announcement. If it turns out to not have anything substantially different I might skip it, but I know there's plenty of room for differences.

I think Arrow should include a bathrobe (black) with a picture of MacReady embroidered into the right breast pocket and when you pull open the bathrobe to flash your neighbor, an alien explodes out of your chest and instantly kills you.

Arrow usually say what parts will be exclusive to the limited edition, which pretty much guarantees a standard at some point. On the Phantasm listing it says "Limited Edition Bonus Disc featuring Exclusive Pheatures" and "Limited Edition Packaging with newly-commissioned artwork from Gary Pullin", which would be strange if they didn't plan on a standard edition eventually.

Of course, if the limited edition doesn't sell well, they may change their minds.

Why not the 2002 PC game on CD which should've received a sequel? With scripted events and all. Bet it's available on GOG.com by now.
Kept both the XBOX and PC disc release. (It's rated 15 by the BBFC.)

I've seen CEX put it in the DVD section before.
