[QUOTE=Aclea;13499939]In simple terms that's because lap dissolves were created in an optical printer, which means you move one generation away from the original negative.

I think that you are usually more than one generation away.

For those waiting, this is now available to pre-order on HMV's UK online store.

http://store.hmv.com/film-tv/blu-ray/the-sinbad-trilogy

Same as Zavvi's price, £44.99.

With VAT removed and shipping added (for US customers), the final total would be £40.57. So £2.43 cheaper than Indicator direct. Works for me!

Very cool. The Camels alerted me to the 44.99 price and I was pleasantly surprised to get that lower price.

What nice box of goodies!

39.99 at base, which comes out to 35.01 shipped to the US (and to a number of other international destinations)!

In the PQ department yes - audio, no it should featured its Dolby Atmos mix

Back in topic though - what's the hertz rate for the supplements - I've been burned too many times when my US television can't playback 50 kHz encoded content

Like Amazon, they remove VAT for non-EU buyers (taking it to 33.32 GBP) and shipping is then only 1.69 GBP on top.

But who is 'they'?

I've only seen HMV and Amazon prices discussed, which totals £40.57 = $52.55

Yep cancelled and placed my order with Base. Ordered a few arrow titles there recently and they all arrived within a week to the states in perfect condition.

That dreaded question, but never used them so, do they charge on delivery or pre-order?

Never heard of Base.com before but it looks like they also have the Pre-order Price Guarantee thing that Amazon has. Do they do a good job with packaging? Amazon scares the hell out of me overtime that I order from them. You never know how they are going to ship something. Sometimes there is bubble wrap and sometimes the item is just thrown in a box. I learnt pretty quickly not to order nice box sets from them, as 8 out 10 times it arrives damaged. Normally, I do better with a regular dvd or blu-ray. But, lately, not having much luck with that.

Based on Facebook comments from people involved with the disc, the recently-shot Tom Baker interview for this release is better than excellent - it's reportedly very long, funny and he has a lot to say. I'm looking forward to this release.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if Indicator have any plans for other Harryhausen films? Specifically I'd like to see 3 Worlds of Gulliver as the TT version would cost me close to $60 CDN from their website! And that's just nuts.

I have not ordered many titles from outside the USA, so I'm a bit confused.

The Base.com site is new information to me, but I looked them up and they have The Sinbad Trilogy for 39.99 pounds.

So,

1.
does that mean it is 39.99 minus the VAT ? Which, if yes, would equal what ?
2.
does Base.com charge your credit card at the moment of order or upon shipment?
3.
do they raise or lower the price if the price changes prior to shipment?
