Ehhhh..."way too" early?
The above films have something in common that this one does not.

If you're talking about the $39.99 pre-order up right now that's full MSRP. The final price won't be anywhere near that.

Since this is a new 4k scan performed by Arrow, I imagine the original MGM/UA Communications logo will be present in 4k, being Shout's Poltergeist III 2k scan has it.

I will gladly upgrade from the current crappy Blu.

A Fish Called Wanda is one of the funniest movies ever made!

I'm glad I avoided getting the old MGM release. I'm not too familiar with Arrow releases, do they use standard cases or transparent-like ones that Criterion uses?

They're transparent and have the same thickness as Criterion releases but they still have a banner with the blu-ray logo across the top.

They're transparent, but they have a banner bar (where the blu-ray logo is located, like standard blu-ray cases), unlike Criterion cases, in which the artwork sleeve goes all the way up to the top of the case.

Classic comedy that deserves a better transfer.

Had only recently bought the MGM (as an upgrade to my DVD), but after giving it a viewing and seeing how bad the transfer looked (especially the damage to the print), I have pre-ordered the Arrow release and will gift the MGM as a Father's Day present.

Average PQ is not an issue with my old man.

At least all of us with the MGM BluRay can put the MGM cover around the Arrow release. See, there was a reason to buy the MGM version after all.

Is this release not coming with a reversible cover? I thought Arrow did that as standard?

Yep, they always do, and I always reverse them, even when I like the new art. There's just something that feels so "right" about having the original poster art on the cover.

I 99% agree but there's a couple exceptions. Shivers is one, because the original artwork uses the wrong title (They Came From Within). Abominable Dr. Phibes has OG posters on each side and I like the one it shipped with the best. Scream's Pumpkinhead has horrible poster art on the other side. Never liked Carrie's poster. Stormy Monday is one I'm torn on flipping...

Anyway no one cares haha. 99% of the time I flip them. OG poster art should be the cover of every movie.

According to Arrow's Facebook, this will be coming on October 10th now. A slipcover will also be included with this release.

There's something I don't like about John Cleese, but I can't really place it. I guess he comes across as rather pompous and full of himself when I've seen him in interviews.

Still, it's a very funny film, and worth it for Kevin Kline and Michael Palin alone, both of whom are fantastic in it.

You know he's English, right?

Wow! I had no idea this was coming. After seeing the Amazon pre-order link up thread, I decided to check out Amazon UK. I ended up ordering it there. $20.85 delivered to the US and the UK release date is 9/18. IMO, it's kind of a no-brainer if you are region-free.

Same with I Come in Peace; absolutely refuse to refer to that movie as Dark Angel.

It's not so much just that he's English, but that he's a public school boy who read law at Cambridge. He's also always been a bit irascible, even the other members of Monty Python often found him difficult to work with. Still, I always find that while he does come across as pompous, he is almost always honest in his interviews and doesn't just give rote responses.
