As much as I enjoyed the first Baby Driver movie, the ending was perfect for me. I don’t know how it’ll take off from there but it’s Edgar Wright after all, maybe he’ll surprise us.

I love Ansel too, and the charm he brought to the role in the first. He took the large swaths of silence and added real character to them, I thought. If there has to be any re-casting, which I hope there doesn't, I saw someone make the suggestion of Alden Ehrenreich for an older version, and I kinda like the idea.

Agreed. Baby Driver is a perfect "One & Done" experience, and sequelizing it will only make it seem stale.

Baby Driver 2 plot:

Baby and his new 17 year-old girlfriend (it takes place in New York so don't worry it's legal) go on the run to be in love, and the girl's "evil" family chase them across the country.

We only get a new Wright movie every 3-4 years, having it be a sequel to Baby Driver seems like a waste of his talent.

I like the first one quite a lot and I'd be interested to see how Edgar would tackle a sequel to one of his movies, but this one doesn't need it.

Not to mention they would probably have to recast Ansel or have a new character, given the accusations he has. They could probably get away with Logan Lerman or Tye Sheridan if he still wants it to be about Baby.

Exactly. Plus, with the accusations against Ansel Elgort, it'll be a tough sell. As much as I love the first film, I'd rather see Wright push forward with new and exciting products, instead of just getting caught in the sequel train.

How is Baby Driver 2 coming on?

I’ve got a lot of films in development, including that, and one of the things that the pandemic did was kind of throw all the chess pieces off the board. So I really haven’t figured out what I’m doing next because it’s more about what order to make things in and where the world’s going to be. For example, I wouldn’t want to be making something like that in a way where the pandemic is compromising production.

Edgar Wright has like four or five upcoming projects in some form of development and at this point until cameras actually start rolling I won't believe any of them are happening. Baby Driver 2 though is dead as dead can be.
