Tails Waititi for the finale... F*cking awesome. Love his brand of humour. Worked for Thor: Ragnorok and should fit in well with the SW franchise.

Great Waitiki for the FInale, now my expecatations become very low. Thor 3 was one of the worst Movies based on a comic I have ever seen. The Comedy wasn't funny, it was just childish. If the same happen to Star Wars, than good night franchise, it could be a new low after Last Jedi and Episode 1.

They're gonna have to work really hard to make that 2009 release date.

They probably already did a lot of work before we even heard much about it.

That's fine, IMO. There are enough Force users and lightsabers in the saga films. It's nice to use things like the spin-off films and TV shows to explore other aspects and characters of the universe. If everything always revolved around Force users and lightsabers, I think it'd get pretty tiring.

Can't wait to see the Filoni directed episode. I wonder if they would have a cameo from Ahsoka, Ezra, or Hera?

Might want to go ahead and change the tile of this thread to The Mandalorian and merge with these other threads:

That's awesome! I've always liked that cartoon from the otherwise abysmal holiday special, so it's cool to see an homage to see it.

I wonder if the identity of The Mandalorian could be Ezra.

Huge Star Wars fan... but not excited yet for this. I love all the films (The Last Jedi excluded, didn't love it, not the worste movie of all time either though). Loved Clone Wars show and Rebels show, not looking foward to the new 2 shows though.

Would be a bold move to turn a cartoon character into a live action one, but if done well, could pay off nicely.

They did put the ship “Ghost” in the background of Rogue One, and I have read that Rebels is canon (and seeing the craft Ghost in R1 certainly does imply the events of Rebels are legit).

I’m hoping that the live action series will have more “adult situations” than the cartoons (espionage/murder as seen in Rogue One) and it won’t pander to young audiences. Like, for example, Beach Ball 8 in The Last Jedi on Canto Bight (being mistaken for a slot machine and the rest).

While I enjoyed The Last Jedi (for the most part), the whole story centered around Canto Bight was handled poorly and was one of the weakest plot lines since anything to do with Jar-Jar in Episode 1... Meesa not like it.

We’ll leave TLJ to the various threads in the Movie sub-forum I think. No need to turn every SW related thread about TLJ.

Yes, Rebels and Clone Wars are most definitely canon, we’ve already seen a major character reappear in a movie following events of one of the animation series. Whilst some of Rebels and Clone Wars was younger audience friendly, there was certainly some content which had a wider scope and appeal A live action series could be the right vehicle to take that content forward. Purely speculating, but Ezra being Thr Mandalorian could fit in with where Rebels left off, and could potentially open the door to introduce a live action version of Ahsoka.
