What are your guesses for a pilot date? 2020? 30? Still, I can't help but get really excited when thinking about watching a live action star wars TV show with what will likely be a fairly sizable budget. Last edited by Sussudio; 03-10-2009 at 08:59 PM. |

Star Wars has broken my heart enough times that I am not excited for this at all. If Lucas leaves the writing to someone else, there's a chance it won't be horrible, but I don't think he had a lot of input on the Clone Wars movie, either, and that was no good. I want to be excited for this; I just cannot be.

This should be interesting. I hope it doesn't suck *fingers crossed*
Presuming it takes place between Episode III (when for film purposes, the Jedi all died) and Episode IV (when Obi Wan brings Luke onto the scene), it makes sense no Jedi will appear. Still, some mention of them would be appropriate. |

an entire series based on the Old Republic era would be so damn ideal. Nothing but Jedi and Sith running around laying waste to the galaxy. There could be some epic stories told there, if Lucas would let Bioware's writers script the series. But as it is, we'll get a bunch of cutesy monsters and annoying little brats running around CGI backdrops doing and saying things nobody cares about.

Thanks for posting the info Sussudio. Haven't missed an episode of The Clone Wars, and I definitely won't pass the live action show up.

It would be nice to have a Star Wars live action series. However, Jedi is an integral part of the Star Wars Universe. We already have the Clone Wars that will allow us to see other characters including Jedi during the EP1-6 era. I would like to see a series on the Old Republic that would expand on their philosophy and core conflict.

Star Wars has just turned into something for kids. Episodes I, II, & III should have appealed way more to an adult audience. The time between episode III and IV just doesn't make sense. Obi Won had to age a lot. Oh geez. Can we get a reboot of Star Wars?

yes i agree that 1 & 2 were more kid based but III was very dark and that why it got a PG-13 rating

I just do not trust George Lucas at this point. His vision of the Star Wars universe in the last decade has been increasingly marketed to children. There were so many awesome possibilities that could have been spun off the original core trilogy and all we got was Jar Jar Binks.
