I'm kind of blown away by the original english mono on this. Sure it's lossy, but the dynamic range is actually pretty astounding, sometimes hilariously so in direct comparison to the 7.1 mix, which sounds feeble as hell next to the mono. The score and the dialogue/sound effects really come out crisp and clear on the mono, compared to some parts of the 7.1 in which the dialogue is practically inaudible(Loomis and Nurse driving in storm is an example) The comments made by the poster in the German forum were absolutely correct regarding the differences between the mono and 7.1. I'm going to compare today the Concorde 7.1 against the US and UK versions, because i don't remember the Lionsgate 7.1 being so weak and subdued. I just wish the Lionsgate releases came with the og audio, even if in DD, because the picture quality on the Concorde is definitely off a bit in at least the black level department. I did notice slightly raised blacks immediately.

How does this version compare with the soon to be released version from Shout factory, or can't really say yet?
