Well maybe it was not supposed to get leaked so early or someone is full of it and came to their senses.

It was nice to be teased by this though.

Lol!

People are so anxiously waiting for True Lies to be released again yet they seem to forget the climate we live in today. Back in 1994 it was already criticised by some people for being "racist" and "sexist". How does one think this film will be perceived today then??? A film like this would have never gotten made in 2019, because nowadays it's all about screaming "racism" and "sexism" at every turn.

I for one am so glad I actually lived the 80s and 90s movie and gaming culture. There was none of this hyper sensitive PC craziness going on, it was just about having a good time, period. Nowadays both Hollywood and the gaming industry are ruined by (left wing) politics and SJW ramblings, something which saddens me to no end...

Are you being deliberately obtuse? The film is still playing on TV in HD. Why would it be controversial to put it on Blu ray? You're just being silly with this PC crap.

I don't keep up with whether films are still being played on TV or not. I mentioned the reason why I think it might indeed be controversial to put this out on physical media once again.

Let's see it happen then with Disney being Disney. I'll happily eat my words if it does.

The reason it hasn't come out yet is James Cameron. Disney has nothing to do with it, it doesn't even threaten their brand since it will never be released under the Disney name.

Well, whatever the case, I'm not the biggest fan of this film anyway. I much prefer Cameron working on Aliens on UHD.

I'm not sure, unfortunately. I only know about True Lies because it's something that had just happened and my friend had to get it off his chest because of how silly the situation is.

Basically: the understanding has always been that The Abyss will come first, then True Lies. So all of the on-and-off work over the years has been for The Abyss. And then one day a few months ago, Cameron contacts Fox/Disney and says he wants True Lies out in UHD to tie-in to Terminator: Dark Fate.

He told me at the time there was no way they could have it read for DF's theatrical release but they're working on it for when it hits home video.

This conversation happened in early August, just for the record.

What does True Lies have to do with the Terminator series other than Cameron directing? Neither The Abyss nor True Lies have tie-in marketability to anything produced by Cameron unless it's a True Lies or Abyss sequel.

Arnold and Cameron were involved in both movies.

Still not a reason for a tie-in.

Time will tell if that was a fake leak or not. If we get True Lies finally on UHD and Blu-ray in 2020 it was credible.

Yes, physical media is dying. They've said that for years in regards to music. That physical media for music is dying. Yet, it keeps coming back like someone being hit with a defibrillator over and over. Otherwise, cassettes would have never been allowed any kind of comeback. Let alone the big one that it has made. Nor 8-track. If you had told me 14 years ago that cassettes and 8-tracks would make any kind of comeback I would've laughed so hard and long I would've wet myself. Ergo, physical media is not dying. It is becoming niche. Two different things. If Waterworld can get a 4K release than that right there should tell you how well physical media is doing. Not to mention the fact that one of indie rocks' biggest artists is putting out their newest release on cassette only. Also, https://cassettestoredayusa.com/

12 billion a year isn’t a stretch at dying, it’s a stupid ****ing phrase

In decline is more accurate, dying would assume it will be gone and dead and that isn’t a clear inevitability for the foreseeable future be it 10+ years and even then it will continue on in some form be it niche market or bigger.

4K is also following vinyl on have a constant uptick of yoy% sales

It isn’t lazy people, it’s people who have purchase habits and the market is bigger than your opinions

Well this is going to be interesting. Looks like Terminator Dark Fate is coming January 28th.
