With Wonder Woman 1984, Jenkins moved the cast of characters closer to the present day. When the next film will be set, however, is mostly a mystery.

Jenkins has revealed she wouldn't be "doing another period piece" for the third movie, although she's "not set".

"It's definitely one of the things we talked about. I'm not planning to put it in the past again, because where are you going to go? You have to go forward. It's definitely a contemporary story. That's all I can say. Where we put it and how that gets figured out, I haven't totally nailed down," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Don’t know how this one will be measured that way with the HBOMax streaming and limited theatrical release.

Budget = $200M. Marketing = $100M+ . . . Needs to do at least $700+M worldwide which is about $300M more than the biggest WW BO earner this year: China's The Eight Hundred: $432M

I still don’t understand how they’re making money on the HBO Max release.

Subscribers don’t have to pay extra to watch new releases. I got to watch it with a free 2-week trial. Only people who signed up for a new subscription would be generating any $ for the studio.

I’m surprised that they didn’t set up a new system whereby having an HBO Max subscription allows you to pay a fee to watch new releases like WW84.

That’s the new PPV model for big sports organizations like the UFC. You buy a subscription to ESPN+ and get lots of free streaming content. But you still have to pay a hefty fee to get the PPVs.

...and you have to be an ESPN+ subscriber to buy the PPV.
