Yes, RoboCop 2 is excellent.

You do get a bit, ah, animated when it comes to Star Wars though Cliff. When the hyperbole gets ratcheted up then so do the replies in kind, it's pretty much internet law.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but I do think it's hella good.

Never Say Never Again is dogshit, though.

Robo 2 got a wee bit creaky on that last rewatch for me, it's still fun but it feels more and more like an old man who doesn't get it trying to replicate what the original did so well.

I feel that way about both RoboCop 2 and Die Hard 2.

It's like the creative teams went through what they thought worked in the first movies (Gunplay... check! Lots of F-bombs... check!) but completely ignored or were unable to recognize the heart that was in them.

I would thank that post in turn but I happen to love Die Hard 2 to bits. Yes, it ticks a lot of the same boxes as the first film without having anywhere near the same level of heart and emotional involvement, so far so Robo 2. But in doing so Renny Harlin is still able to put his own stamp on it in a way that Kersh never does, so I like Die Hard 2 morer.

Yeah, excluding Cutthroat Island, late 80s and early 90s Renny was an absolute badass

Yeah I’m going to just pick up the OT, RO and FA. I can’t stomach the prequels anymore. I would just watch them once like I did the BD’s.

I recently introduced someone to Star Wars for the first time and pretended like the prequels don't exist. I own them in the BD set, but I haven't bothered to watch them after my disappointment in the theater. For me, it's OT, RO, and the sequels (which I actually like).

The prequels feel like fairy tales to me. They are so over the top with the CG and scenes that I almost wish they started like the Hobbit and some wise sage is recounting what history of the Jedi Order and Anakin Skywalker.

It's the only way I can stomach them. They don't feel like real movies or events that are happening.

Looks like Disney and amazon are still at it with their pissing match. The UHDs keep going up and down for pre-order.

That’s actually a good way of putting it. Robo 2 sometimes feels like a knockoff film in spots than a proper sequel. It’s a less personal film than the first. It just feels they went ‘well just throw in some violence gore and foul language and some badass robot battle and it’ll be just as good’. But the original film was more than just that. The first film had emotion and humor that made it just as memorable as all that other stuff. The second film tones down the emotions and is only hit and miss with the humor. But it’s still fun. Not ESB fun but fun in its own way.

Don't forget the horrendous dialogue and wooden acting.
