Yes..... but he said home theater..... and as you know, they don't make a center channel to match these (of course since each pair is custom made to order, you can probably just get a third Nautilus speaker...... ahh hell... just get 7 total for the fronts, center surrounds...... etc!!)

The VPI HR-X is OK, but for no holds barred, I'd go for the SME 30/2, Walker Proscenium, or the TW Acoustic Raven. My (no longer available) Forsell Air Force One Signature is much like the Walker, but I'd like to replace it one day, perhaps with the SME 30/2.

I liked the bass extension on the Velodynes a little better--sure, I may not be able to hear 15Hz, but I really like to feel the lowest frequencies. Plus, and perhaps I was wrong, but I was under the impression that Velodyne was better known for their quality subs than ML.

As far as the Summits all around, I admit, I am shallow--the Voyages were aesthetic choices. They are very high quality, though, if I am not mistaken. Perhaps not quite up to muster with the Summits, but I think that I would not be disappointed in any way. I could always upgrade, right?

EDIT: Good tip on the turntable; I like the SME. Thanks (not that I'll ever have to worry about making that decision, but what the hell....)

Upgrading is always an option! :-)

One of the things that attracts me to the SME 30 (apart from its superb sound quality, construction, and engineering) is the fact that it's made by an established company that isn't going anywhere, so spares will be available for years. (I used to have an SME V tonearm--which was introduced back in 1986--and they're still being made!)

Who knows what'll happen when Jim Walker eventually shuffles off this mortal coil?
