iTunes Upgrade Calendar (Estimated) - Page 5 - Blu-ray Forum

I wonder what the chances are of Paramount upgrading Friday the 13th 1-4 to 4K, based on the re-release of 1-8 on Blu-ray in August. The new disc collection from Paramount does include the remastered versions of 1-4 from the Shout! box set, so I have a feeling this could happen.

Shame for the British folk though as the first is distributed by WB here and very unlikely to see the upgrade. 2-4 would be fine though.

Willy Wonka is 4K now but looks like no free upgrade. The original release no longer appears in search but it’s available in my library and the 4K version is available for purchase.

Have you tried playing it back as for many it’s playing back in 4K.

I have, unfortunately it looks like it’s 2 separate listings and mine plays back in 1080p.

However, Space Jam is 4K now.

Star Trek 1-4 was the officially announced for 9/7. Was thinking that Wrath of Khan should be added to the list because it’s the theatrical cut. Only the DC is currently 4K on iTunes.

The older version of Willy Wonka “&” the Chocolate Factory is now finally upgraded in 4K DV in the US. No need to rebuy.

It’s playing 4K from the Apple TV app, when I signed out and signed back in the badge updated to 4K HDR, before it was showing as HD but playing in 4K

If both cuts of WoK are 4K Dolby Vision on disc, I hope they also replace the HDR10 with DV on the Director's Cut in iTunes.

The Thing is already available in 4K HDR on Vudu and Kaleidescape as of today. Hopefully iTunes gets it early as well.

Dracula (1931) got a surprise release in 4K on Microsoft as well.

October 5, 2021 (or sooner given the recent updating of "Dracula")

"Frankenstein" (1931) (now available in 4K/HDR10 on VUDU)
"The Invisible Man" (1933)
"The Wolfman" (1941) (now available in 4K/HDR10 on VUDU)

Potentially other classic Universal Monster films as well.

This site reports that Lionsgate will release Highlander on UHD on Sept. 14:

It's not clear though if the version currently on iTunes will be upgraded, given that it lists "Davis-Panzer" as studio in the store ...

The Score, Changing Lanes, The Italian Job (2003) and Drillbit Taylor are going 4K tomorrow on Vudu. Paramount always goes 4K on iTunes as well so I expect they will likely be added tomorrow as well.

tjritter79 brought up the fact that VUDU now has "Frankenstein" (1931) available for sale in 4K/HDR10 now, so we should expect it to go 4K on iTunes shortly as well.

awp69 has informed me that "The Wolfman" (1941) is also now available on VUDU in 4K/HDR10 as well.

Also, edited my earlier post to note that it's "The Invisible Man" (1933) coming out on 4K UltraHD Blu-ray on October 5, and not "The Mummy" as was rumored.
