iTunes Upgrade Calendar (Estimated)

This thread details all forthcoming potential 4K upgrades, based on announced physical disc releases.

While the below is focused on the US store (unless otherwise stated), you can use the iTunes ID to determine if your market will likely see an upgrade too. If they match, it stands a good chance! It is also true that your market may have already seen an upgrade and the US store is just behind.

This thread works hand-in-hand with the iTunes 4K thread in that live upgrades are announced there and removed from here, even if it is in advance of the date that was originally featured here.

If you spot something missing, create a post and I'll add to the OP when possible.

Many films from Paramount don't feature extras. Maybe I am wrong.

I’m pretty sure that all recent Paramount movies get whatever extras are on the discs But there are also older movies like Ten Commandments that extras in the US store But not over here

Also I looked at the US TV app on an AppleTV and there was no 4K yet folks here from the US say 10 Commandments is 4K

It's showing as 4K in the iTunes Store.

If you already own it in your library, it won't show 4K tags until your library is refreshed. You can do this by purchasing something (even something free), signing in and out of your account, or waiting a few days. It SHOULD play in 4K though.

I don’t own it. I know that it is easy to set up accounts for other countries and to switch libraries but I want to have just one library. I’m trying to figure out which store is better - the UK or US. However so far it seems that both have 4K/Extras that the other doesn’t.

If you want to be ready for the upgrade Battle Royale, Donnie Darko and The Bird with the Crystal Plumage are £2.99 until tomorrow on the UK store as part of Arrow's March sale, not sure if that's replicated in the US?

King of New York took quite a while to get upgraded when the disc came out but it did happen eventually so it'll be interesting to see if that was a deliberate choice to push people into buying the disc or if they were just tardy.

In the U.S., Battle Royale is from a different studio, so probably won't be 4K here.

There is no U.S. listing for "The Bird With The Crystal Plumage" at this time.

"Donnie Darko" is $2.99 here too also though.

I don't think Roman Holiday & The Court Jester are going to happen. I would be surprised if The Greatest Show On Earth gets upgraded too.

"The Court Jester" has a nifty 6K scan out there.

"Roman Holiday" and "The Greatest Show On Earth" both have a neato 4K scan out there.

I believe both are coming, but "Roman Holiday" has indeed taken a while, and may be a while still.
