Okay, I see now. Yes, her skull is small in contrast to her torso and arms compared to a normal human.

When creating a character in 2015's Bloodborne, the options left a lot to be desired. But I don't remember if I could increase the character's face size. Thankfully the game play delivers a good challenge and good controls.

Good atmosphere, monsters and sound effects in that game.

Problem is, you grow a body with muscles that big, it's difficult to change the size of the head technically talking from a real life perspective but there's no reason they cannot do so for the games.

I watched the Digital Foundry video discussing the beta, and apparently the best console version fps wise is the ps4 version played on a ps5. as it's the only version that is locked 60fps (resolution 1300p or something like that)

the current gen version is 4k and the fps targets 60 but it fluctuates

if this is the case for the final version as well, I might go with the ps4 version. locked 60fps beats higher resolution to me

The compromises were basically visual for 60fps by the look of things. So it comes down to what you maybe value a little more. The game world looks like it has a beauty some may wish to view more than worry about some mild frame drops.

I never want to go back to anything less than 60fps ever again. After a year of playing nothing BUT 60fps games on PS5, trying to go back to 30fps is painful! It's like trying to go back to 480i CRT TV after watching in 4K. Once that genie is out of the bottle, there's no going back in.

Until I experienced enough 60 fps games, and saw how much more responsive games were, especially when driving in Watch Dog Legion, it took me a month or so before I saw how much better 60 fps is, as you were saying for a long time now.

It made steering the bikes in Watch Dogs Legion go from being a clunky, unresponsive mess, to being much more responsive and easier to control.

And seeing the camera flicker with 24 to 30 fps makes the game look a bit rough, compared to the very smooth 60 fps mode.

With games like Miles Morales, it's nice they offer 60 fps 4K mode without reflections. And then the 60 fps with reflections, but reduced resolution.

More than TV or movies, 4K looks much more noticeable with resolution of games and their pixels/anti-aliasing issues.

Hopefully Elden Ring is 4K 60 fps too as an option.

Careful, you're beginning to sound like that guy NARMAK on the forum. Constantly bangs on about 120 fps

I get what you mean, but honestly and this is just one example. When i played Last of Us on PS3 at 30fps i genuinely felt it aesthetically worked better when i replayed a bit on PS4 which had a 60fps option. For single player 30fps but definitely 60fps for MP. That said, other games i've definitely gone for 60fps, so i completely get where you come from. Want that PS5 Pro

I understand about losing that cinematic feel by going from 30 to 60....but frankly it's a tradeoff I'm willing to make. Playing at 60fps just feels so much better.

Do you think they will update the PS5 version so it will run at 60fps?

Performance mode is 60fps, but it wasn’t locked 60 times in the beta, hopefully it will be in the final version

It depends how much it fluctuates whether or not I care. E.g. Ghost of Tsushima PS5 is not a locked 60, but there were only a handful of times I even noticed.

That's true that it's not easy to notice many times unless someone has a FPS frames per second meter onscreen at all times. I would imagine that takes away half the fun of playing a game though if the fluctuation is minimal at best.

If it's significant, like in Days Gone on PS4 before updates, then I wouldn't mind seeing how low the frame rate could get.

30fps is dead to me now after playing every single game so far on my PS5 @60fps. I can't go back.

I wonder if Elden Ring will have a good save system, or a limited one where you can only save at select points as with past games.

I understand, but what about games that won't ever be 60 fps, like old PS4 games that haven't been updated or are locked at 30 fps? I still play those but seeing the camera flickering as it's moved takes a big adjustment. It's mostly the camera but then also the responsiveness of the controls for driving/steering most of all.

Agreed. I'll use Performance mode just to check out the graphics, but its pretty jarring to switch between them. I will say I didn't see much of a difference between 60 and 120 so I'm cool if this generation we can just to a middle point of 60fps with the graphical bells and whistles. I got a Series S as well and it seems they're targeting 1080p 60 with everything which is acceptable enough.

I played some PS3 games last summer. The 30 fps was very jarring at first but I got used to it. I'd always rather 60 but 30 is like riding a bike, just need to get used to it again and you're fine.

Yes, that's a good point.

Sort of like jumping into a pool of cold water. At first it's a little shocking and painful, but once you get moving and used to it for a bit, it's easier to deal with.

Hopefully Elden Ring's frame rate will be 60 fps 4K, but with less reflection effects if necessary. Seeing this impressive world and its characters in high frame rates will be great, especially with the amazing animations.
