It's a little formulaic given From Software are treading the same look and feel of prior titles they have done, but i guess if you do something so well. Why change too right.

The writerr George RR Martin seems to be inspirred by JRR Tolkien.

The open world aspect, if this is in fact open world, sounds promising.

Looks too much like Dark Souls, which I'm over. I don't get why Miyazaki wants to return to that aesthetic again after so many games.

In other shocking news, Miyazaki, known for his Dark Souls games, Bloodborne and Sekiro makes a new game with some of the aesthetic and style of Dark Souls games.

The games are a success in sales and gamer feedback from what I hear, so that's a good reason to stay with that brutal, punishing style of game with bosses that are tougher than nails.

I personally rather play a fun game first, before a game that is brutally difficult and unforgiving without decent checkpoints, due to limited free time. The last thing I want to do is not see progress but keep playing the same section over and over until I finally get it right. Not enough free time in life to do that at the moment.

That said, if the open world is epic in scale and variety, I'll definitely consider this game even with the brutal difficulty. Maybe I can skip most of the bosses if the map is fully open from the start and explore while building the character up, eventually getting strong enough to wipe them out. If that's possible.

Just signed up for the beta but i'm not bothered about any release date delays. I won't be buying any games except on offer for £40

I genuinely like the idea of playing games, but don't play enough to justify launch pricing.

Thanks for the info.

Releasing this a mere week after another big game is risky for any game. I guess this has a large fan base so no big deal.

Mad Max suffered by being released on the same exact day as MGSV back then. Best to delay it to the next month IMO. Otherwise, people can just buy one game, complete it, then wait for the next game to go on sale.
