Sad to see people need something like this to happen for them to buy a game, and not just buy a game that's been available for many years on PSN simply because it's good, or because they like it.
Just like Sony removing the PS3 store from the marketplace. It was available for over a decade, yet the moment they announce they'll be removing it only then do people start buying the games. |

Would be cool if GTAIII included aircraft in addition to the clunky Dodo hidden plane that was super tough to fly without crashing.

The things that made it memorable and generation defining with GTA3/Vice/San Andreas are all well baked in to most games now, you won't get the WOW factor that everyone else was experiencing back then through each game. If anything it'll be a slog with the outdated gameplay etc. Whereas 5 you might really appreciate it as a whole |

Did they fix the load times with the PSN versions? I remember in the original releases there was a long load time travelling between islands. It better be seamless with these
If he's gonna play all 3, he should start with GTA3 |

I’m going to wait to buy these. There’s no reason why these should have loading screens in the game. All this talk about how great SSD’s are and yet we still have loading screens.

If there was a modern update to Vice City for GTA 6, that would be pretty damn sweet but the PS2 games definitely one of the fondest memories in the series for me. I just vibe with the 80s tunes and the story just had it down. |

An option to shut off loading screens would be welcome, yes for PS5.
PS4 will require regular loading. PS5, about 2 seconds tops. While driving in GTA3, entering the mall in VC and some interiors in SA, no loading would be more immersive. Rockstar's goal back then was to try to make it seamless as much as they could. I miss all of the cool RPG elments of SA not in GTAV, like exercise and food affecting the character's weight. That was really unique. |

San Andreas was where I finally started and I was quickly hooked. It's the perfect balance between realism, satire, gameplay and story. |

Yes, if they wanted to like mentioned above that you have an option to simply turn off loading screens that would work but having them be there as an option is cool too. I thought they give the game a proper retro vibe and given they're remasters not remakes, having them is great for nostalgia for any of the original gamers.

But in terms of features or gameplay, Vice City isn't even close. Driving in that game isn't nowhere as good as in San Andreas. And the map is so small tight that you constantly bump into things. Especially when you're on a bike and you hit something that throws you into the water, where you instantly die since you can't even swim, let alone dive like you can in San Andreas. I've heard someone try to rationalize Vice City being superior because San Andreas is "too big", or because it has "too many" features. Just weak arguments that don't make any sense. I'm biased though, since San Andreas is my favorite game of all time, as witnessed by my wall of merchandise: ![]() |

VC is my favourite not because of the gameplay but because of how perfectly it captured that romanticised version of 80’s era cocaine filed rags to riches story. I certainly preferred SA improvements to the map and gameplay and was blown away by the scale of it. I appreciate its technical achievements and story but It couldn’t replace the love I have for VC even though it is a technically inferior game features wise. |

Basically its going to come down to each persons unique experience, why I said I wouldn't start with any of these games because story telling/graphics and gameplay have come so far in the open world space that these games are best left to those that have old experiences with them. Its not like an FPS/3rd person shooter where you could revisit half life, metal gear, etc. even things like god of war 1/2 don't hold up as well to their counterparts 3/4. An awesome, epic game, agreed. In terms of gameplay, definitely a favorite of the series. The PC upgrade version looks amazing, and I wish we could get something like that as an upgrade, in addition to a classic remaster. Vice City is smaller and with less features, though I enjoyed the story and the mall concept and 80s style having grown up as a small kid during that time, along with the song tracks too. Plus they introduced the motorcycles which I thought was a good decision. And GTA III, Liberty City has a good map with the three sections to travel to. The skyscraper metropolis area being my favorite of that game. The dodo bird wingless air plane was a really fun discovery. I'd play these GTA games for probably 200 hours each or more sometimes. GTAV is fun, I probably played it for that long too before moving on. I revisit them each in short spurts over the years. GTA4's control concerns were a problem IMO, despite the interesting city. |
