I never got a response from VCI, so I did an exchange through Amazon. Both copies had wrinkled black UHD cases, shrink-wrapped, with slipcovers. My replacement included the booklet.

The wrinkling doesn't really bother me. It's common enough that it doesn't lessen the product in my eyes. I think it just happens when they get a little too aggressive with the heat gun.
Are you talking about the ripples on some cases? I just got the Blade Runner 4K having been told the other versions were within the set, which isn't true. But the case came rippled. The plastic cover that wraps around to protect the cover.

Yes, the clear plastic that holds the cover art. Sometimes, instead of being smooth, it's wrinkled.

At times I think it also has to do with how tight a slipcover/slipbox is.

For example, I find that blu-ray/UHD cases eventually begin to wrinkle inside those Arrow hardbox limited editions. Ones I've had for years now have very wrinkled plastic on the front covers. The inserts and box contents are fine but those cases are wrinkle city.

Yeah, I've gotten quite a few in my day. I don't like it, but it doesn't really affect anything. Not as far as I am aware.

Is this any comparison to the Black Christmas UHD 4K? Pretty sure it's the same director.

I never owned this on physical media before grabbing the 4k uhd last year. Now after my third watch, it's grown on me quite a bit. Gobs of atmosphere, great efficient camera work, solid directing, and some clever, effective editing, especially for such an early low-budget effort by Clark. The characters didn't grate on me quite so much this last time around. The 4k looks solid enough. Very pleased to have this in the collection.

I'm very happy they did this! It's been my favorite zombie film ever since I saw it late one night as a kid on our local Creature Feature. The zombies, the music, the brutality and hate-ability of Alan all make this film so great. I don't even have anything capable of 4k yet, but even a slight improvement over DVD will be nice. Still watching things on my early Oppo and Pioneer Elite plasma (which is suffering from a pink wash in the center during bright white scenes).

"The magnitude of your similitude overwhelms me!" --Alan
