I like that artwork and hope they keep it. But I also hope the movies are in individual cases inside.

But yeah, that'd be Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Halloween: Resurrection.
Hell yes! That image definitely says "8-disc Set" so this most assuredly means that we'll get four 4K BD's and four standard BD's; one for each film, plus the producer's cut of H6. The theatrical cut of H6, H20 and HR should all have brand new 4K scans as well and each film should also retain all of their respective bonus features from the 2014 box set.

As for why they're bundled together in a set instead of continuing with individual releases, this is all purely speculation on my part, but I have a feeling that it's most likely a stipulation in the deal with the rights holders (either Paramount or Mirimax [or both]). When SF original licensed these films for the 2014 box sets, Miramax would only allow them to be sold as part of a set; no individual releases. The lack of newly artwork to match the individual releases of H1-H5 could so be a stipulation. The only thing I'm worried about is the availability of the set. There's nothing on the artwork saying it's limited, but that was confirmed to also be part of the deal for the 2014 sets; limited availability.

Hopefully that's just me over thinking things though. Either way this is a day-1 purchase and I so look forward to marathoning all the movies in the lead up to Halloween Ends this October. Even if these 3 (4?) movies are in a box set instead of individual releases

May be a licensing agreement that they can only it in a box set and not individually. iirc, that was Miramax’s stipulation for when they put out the box set with Anchor Bay.

If both cuts of Curse are included, it’d be 4 discs rather than 2.

Apologies for slowing the thread down but does anyone know the size of the 4K amaray cases scream factory used for the Halloween 1-5 4K release I'm looking to replace the eco cases on 4 and 5 cause they're so flimsy and I'm starting to see the hole imprint on the covers which for someone with severe ocd about the littlest things fair to say it's bothering me.

That is very true! Miramax has been doing 4K releases and they must of given Shout! the rights and how they couldn’t do it individual releases.

I am not sure, but I also had the same problem. They just slide out of the Slipbox.

At least the original elements for the producer’s cut exist and Shout had access to them in 2014. Their excuse for Lifeforce and Army of Darkness was they didn’t have access to the proper elements for the alternate cuts.

They're with Lionsgate.

Yeah unless Lionsgate is dead set against working with third parties like Scream/Shout to issue a license. Speaking of Lionsgate , I don’t guess they intend to release Saw 2 in 4K. It’s been over a year since Saw’s 4K release

Having the cover art exclusively be from H20 rather than showcasing all three films is an interesting decision, but I guess I see the logic. My only nitpick is I wish the (1995-2002) was a separate line because the way they have it formatted now looks off.

Still, I’m thrilled these three films are coming out (even if we more-or-less knew) and can’t wait to pick the set up.

Cliff has said many times that Lionsgate refuses to license out their titles.

I feel like 6 has its fans, while Resurrection is almost universally regarded as the worst Halloween movie.

Lionsgate will license discs though. In the past, Warner was able to include Lionsgate’s Terminator 2 disc from the 4K set in their 6 movie Blu-ray set and Universal included Anchor Bay’s 35th Anniversary Halloween disc in the 1978 + 2018 double pack.

The bottom most article says "Myers Niece Presumed Dead," a similar article is on Tommy Doyle's wall in H6. So H6 is represented in some fashion on the box art. It's just HR that's not...

Those were already released discs though. They won't allow studios to make new releases of their films.

This was done for the 2014 Halloween box sets where the existing discs for Rob Zombie's films were included with no changes at all. EDIT: The films weren't with Lionsgate in 2014 but with Genius Productions and Sony respectively. But the pre-existing discs for these films have already been licensed.

The point of these releases Scream is doing is to create new 4K and BD discs from a 4K scan of the original elements. So far only BDs exist for the Zombie films; not 4K discs. And so far it would seem that Lionsgate isn't interested in releasing these 2 films themselves or (as previously stated) licensing them out to a boutique label.

Lionsgate inherited these films as part of their Spyglass library acquisition. The digital assets were easily locatable and thus swapped from TWC/Genius to Lionsgate. However, the physical assets are a different matter and it is not known if they remain at facilities used by TWC, moved to Lantern’s facility, or were transferred to Lionsgate’s facilities.
