Own all 3 but Lorna #1 slipcover is made of thinner cardboard, slightly wider and number doesn’t line up with #2 and #3. If you care about such things.

I received some titles from another label (MVD, I think) that also used the thinner cardboard on the slipcover(s). Not impressed. I hope this is not a trend that gains momentum in an effort to tighten the line between cost and profit. I would think such a move would reduce the fanatics' need to have that slipcover, resulting in a dip in the market of physical media.

Dark Power was horrible beyond belief so I’m not in any rush to watch Alien Outlaw from the same director. Gonna be cautious with this line.

Of the titles in this line announced so far, I've only been interested in getting The Dark Power (when thinking of the title of the film, I've more than once got it confused with the Lou Diamond Phillips-starring The First Power). Have had a second look at the DVD Beaver review. They're mostly positive, the comments. But Mr. Tooze isn't his usual "we give it our highest recommendation!" positive self.

Man....I wish I would have read this quote a week ago. I got my copy about 4 days ago and after reading your quote last night...I figured, why not...it can't be that bad...right.. Well...it is awful. But at times..so awful it legit is funny. The girls are nice, so it had that, but the Zombie Indians....WTF...Those were the worst costumes, masks, etc...I may have ever seen in a legit movie. This sh#t was straight out of a HS drama performance somewhere. The guy flipping around the Tomahawks like he was fuc#in Bruce Lee had me on the floor a few times though...so it does have a comedy element... Lash Larue with that whip...wtf...he never made contact with anything...simply hilarious. Honestly...I don't know how this movie slipped past Vinegar Syndrome's fingers...

I didn't care for the Dark Power and ditched it but I did find Alien Outlaw entertaining enough. Its not good but it has some 80s charm going on and the leads legs are all kinds of awesome.

Kino Cult #6 - Drifter (1974)

DRIFTER (1974) KINO CULT #6
• 2K Restoration from the Original 16mm A/B Negatives Preserved by the UCLA Film and Television Archive
• Audio Commentary by Film Historian Finley Freibert
• Four Short Films by Pat Rocco
- Autumn Nocturne (1968, 24 Min.)
- A Matter of Life (1968, 14 Min. Featuring Joed Adair)
- Strip Strip (1968, 5 Min.)
- Sunny Boys (1968, 3 Min.)
• Optional English Subtitles

A prolific filmmaker who explored documentary, narrative, and experimental cinema, Pat Rocco captured the essence of queer culture in the late 1960s and early ’70s, when it was still largely ignored by the popular media. Having achieved notoriety in the gay underground, Rocco expected his third feature to cross over to general audiences. A West Coast response to Midnight Cowboy, Drifter observes the odyssey of an emotionally ambivalent bisexual hustler (Joed Adair) as he wanders through a series of relationships with men and women, yearning for a sense of belonging in a Southern California characterized by impersonal pick-ups and sex for hire. Playful and irreverent, Rocco‘s films could also be disarmingly earnest and sensitive, and might have found a greater audience had not serious gay narratives remained such a stubborn cultural taboo. As it was, Rocco’s breakthrough film failed to receive commercial distribution, and for decades Drifter remained virtually unseen. Fifty years later, Kino Cult celebrates Rocco‘s magnum opus with a 2K restoration from the original 16mm A/B negatives preserved by the UCLA Film and Television Archive, setting the stage for a reappraisal of Rocco’s eclectic and historically significant body of work.

That TEASERAMA cover is a real work of art. I wish KINO made posters of it.

I hope there’s a chance Kino Cult could release Invasion U.S.A., The Carnosaur Films, and The Last Shark on Blu Ray they pretty much fit this label. So I hope they license these three

The Last Shark might be a tall ask with the Jaws footage.

I think the Carnosaur films would need to come from Shout, but I think those are held up with the lawsuits surrounding the Corman estate.

Would definitely love all of these though!

The announcement of the four Ilsa releases is epic! I'm really happy that each movie is slated to be a stand-alone package. And yeah, I'm aware that only three of these films are official, but if the fourth film didn't come out as part of this "set," I'm not sure when exactly it would see the light of day. Besides, the bait-and-switch retitle happened back when it was still circulating theatrically and is completely within the tradition and spirit of exploitation -- so I feel like it more than belongs.

If Cruel Jaws could be released with Jaws Footage, Last Shark could too

I feel like Severin flew under the radar and now they scrubbed it clean from the records. Kind of like their slipcases that are blurred out and have the false sequel/franchise name in them for their Italian horror movies.

I believe it is pretty well established that Severin could, in fact, NOT release Cruel Jaws, and they burned some bridges by doing so anyway.

The release was quickly pulled (even though they sort-of secretly still appear to sell it at conventions), and Severin lost the rights to some planned Universal titles, which instead went to VS (Drop Dead Fred and the two vintage horror movies).
