Just noticed this additional tease on VS' Facebook page yesterday regarding the first release:

Quote:
A never-on-disc Paramount classic
Confirms it is indeed new to disc (and that the prior hint referred only to this first release, since only the second part mentioned the title being overlooked on disc). And the 'classic' tag surely rules out some of the more obscure candidates. Little Darlings certainly seems like the most obvious shout.

Add me to the list of those convinced it’ll be Little Darlings up first. And 4K to boot, yes?

But Goodbar is almost certain to follow shortly behind, no? Has there been any indication it isn’t coming from Cinematographe but some other label?

I don't know, but I just watched a trailer for Goodbar and would love for that to arrive in a fantastic UHD Blu-ray release. As long as they don't screw it up and keep it looking like the film it was shot on in the way that Showgirls was released.

Well, there are two Cinematographe releases next week (Tuesday and Sunday) So there is a chance for both!

If so, would it be a Vinegar Syndrome scan (as I believe they did for Showgirls) or a source from Paramount?

Vinegar Syndrome tweaked the materials provided to them for Showgirls.

VS’ Paramount releases so far have all been done in house.

If it's Darlings today- and it sure looks like that's the case- then I have a hard time believing they would accord that the UHD release and relegate Goodbar to simply a Bd.

I'm perfectly fine with either or both of these being standard blus, and will pop for the UHD if that's all I'm offered.
But if Darlings is getting the UHD this week, then I don't expect the week will end with Goodbar being released only on a Bd.

I don't see Little Darlings being described as a ”doozy” and it's not being upgraded from a current (or any) release so I think that's not what today's title will be. It's likely to be the 2nd title announced this week but it doesn't say if it is BD or UHD.

Someone mentioned Mommie Dearest on IG and It's interesting that the Blu-ray release has similar colors going on. Also says it's an upgrade to UHD so it would likely have a BD.

Could absolutely mean nothing but I would describe that as a ”doozy” and it is a significant paramount title.

The first release was described last week as a 'never-on-disc Paramount classic'. This pretty much confirms that only the first title has been hinted at.

We did a new scan and restoration for both of the releases this week

Are the Cinématographe releases going to be site exclusive, or will retailers like Diabolik be able to stock them at some point?

They are not exclusive to the VS site, whether or not a retailer opts to stock them is ultimately up to them, though I'd imagine that they would.

I don't see Mommie Dearest fitting anything that has been said. But, stranger things have happened.

If it's never on disc how did it get upgraded to UHD?

Probably just a turn of phrase. They've twice suggested the first title didn't get a disc release, so I can't think that's a mistake. And someone like Frank Perry certainly wouldn't fit the 'first feature' hint anyway.

Since the UHD spine is pink, maybe it's Compromising Positions? The poster is pink and it has yet to make it's disc debut. I still think it will end up being Little Darlings, but it's a point to consider.
