Could it be Dawn Summers? I could see Dawn following in Willows footsteps becoming a witch at some point in her life.

Couldnt they get Brendon's twin to play xander if Brendon is really that much of a problem. Kelly has played xander before

Can't imagine that going well, with Nicholas Brendon's mental state, seeing his brother get a part that he absolutely loved playing and still talks about today more than anything else would probably send him over the edge

So, are the comic seasons (8-12) still going to be considered "canon"?

I'm guessing those are going to be hardcore ignored.

I never cared for the comics, probably a lot of others who don't either or never even touched them so I doubt they'll use anything from them.

It's Star Wars Eps. 7-9 all over again, why do they always wait too long to start these revivals? Buffy should've been revived 2010 at the latest to feasibly have most of the original cast come back. But SMG was still in Buffy denial mode back then, and she and the hubby aren't getting much steady work these days, so now it's time to finally cash in.

The suits will definitely decide Firefly needs to come back too...right around the time Fillion needs a walker.

Calm down. Sarah Michelle Gellar is only 47 years old, she’s not elderly. And the character of Buffy Summers just turned 44.

I guess "calm down" is what you say to people you disagree with when you can't disprove their points? I'm sure SMG can still pull it off - just. (And you could say Sharon Stone pulled off Basic Instinct 2, but did anyone want to see it at that point?).

But I said "most of the original cast", which a lot of people would've wanted to see, and could've been done 15 years ago. Whedon could've written 15 years ago too, or at least he could've supervised in some way.

Sarah Michelle Gellar wouldn't have worked with Whedon again. Ever. The fact that he isn't going to be involved might have persuaded her to do it.

I'm sure you're right. This is just my wishful thinking that they could've resolved their differences back 15 years or so ago when they should've revived the show. We can only speculate the extent of their bad blood since neither one's gone on the record in any detail. I understand there's no way it's happening now, but I do think the show will be lacking something without his writing (even though every writer in Hollywood is a Whedon wannabe).

Just saw SMG on the new Dexter show and was thinking about Buffy. Hopefully this will be good.

Never got into the show but I saw the original movie again at an indie theater a few years ago and loved it.

Joss made the original series great. All of it.
Because an actor took his direction on JL as optional and *****ed about it, Joss was written out of Hollywood.

I'm just glad he is still worth $100 milllion plus. He created three brilliant tv series that are forever. He will long be remembered as an amazing creative talent in the TV landscape.

How about instead of doing a reboot, they restore the orginal series in real hd or preferably a 4k scan or uhd and release it on disc. That's what EVERYONE wants!! Then do their reboot that will probably suck.

Almost every show I've liked now has actors talking about their "toxic work environment". Back in my day, it was called having a job. Sometimes you have shitty bosses and co-workers. Move on.
