Glad you liked it!
Ok, so after finally seeing this (schedule kept pushing me to other releases until this last weekend), I'm leaning to the disappointed end of the spectrum. Visually it was fine, audio was ok, but the story/plot just felt like it was padded and edited for that cutoff end (and continuation) rather than a natural, satisfying progression or conclusion. A few annoying elements,
[Show spoiler]like not killing the alpha once drugged for reasons,
wouldn't be an issue with better pacing, but after
[Show spoiler]the obviously telegraphed second outing and random character introduction,
the tone shift there and then
[Show spoiler]the (also random) Tarantino-esque, but brief, ending (finally) connecting the intro
... yeah, I was kinda bored.

Completionism will probably have me buy it and give it another shot, but so far this one pales next to the other two.

Some pretty heavy implications that the 4K Standard may have been cancelled by Sony, do correct me though

Of course my timeline refreshed and I lost it but I did just see a tweet with all 3 cover arts--steelbook, 4k standard, and standard blu (the latter two are matching but the banner on top of 4k says 4k + blu + digital)--so I assume it's still on. Of course someone could've just photoshopped it themselves but I don't know why they would've, and they would've had to work fast to get it to match that brand new bluray art that came out lol

That being said, I do not know where they got the image from. But anyway, just fyi!

(I have the standard 4k preordered so I'd be bummed if it got canceled)

Sony also had front and back cover art for the standard Kraven and had it for pre-order but they cancelled it in the US. Sony's only released two standards in 2025, Venom 3 and the ridiculously priced Until Dawn, and the only future standard currently scheduled (for now) is Karate Kid: Legends. All the rest have been steelbooks or MOD. Even I Know What You Did Last Summer is steelbook only.

Sony and Disney just don't give a shit about their customers anymore. It's bad enough to force one kind of packaging on people, but these prices are just pouring salt in the wound.

If the movie was so good or one of best in 2025 why the BD version is left with only 5.1 audio, not even 7.1?

Could the BD art be worse than the movie itself?

Just to be safe, I just preordered the steelbook, in case the standard UHD never materializes, and the steelbook sells out in preorders, as Sony/Disney steelbooks tend to.

If Days is coming out that day too, seems weird they wouldn't announce them together...

That's a Foxney title. True, Sony distributes home video for them too now, but Disney probably had no incentive to create a new 4K master of that film, just to promote another studio's sequel.

Days was financed by a UK company, and only distributed by 20th Century Fox. Once the rights reverted to the Brits, they did a new distro deal for Days with Sony, along with the deal for the sequel trilogy, which was financed by Sony.

Weeks was financed by 20th Century Fox, they own it in perpetuity.

Well, so much for getting the trilogy in 4k then....
But apparently we have to look at Years as some kind of reboot?

Not sure I follow. Everything in Days seems to be canon in Years, although the ending of Weeks does seem to be negated in Years, so I'm not sure if the second film is considered canon.

It's the international poster though. Honestly, for being the designated "cast" one, it's not that bad.

There'll be more sequels and Years apparently starts a new trilogy?
"28 Years later: Bone Temple" will be released next year. At least, that's what I found...
Haven't seen Years, yet, so I can't talk about the ending.
Needless to say, Weeks is canon to me, so if Years ignores some of the developments in Weeks, I'd honestly find that hard to swallow....

There's a throw away line in it that Garland wrote to undo the ending of Weeks. That's it for Weeks' contribution to the new entries.
