Well, I've heard this in other places, and now its been proven...

300: Love it or hate it. I loved it. People looking for a narrative or a deep plot will be sorely disappointed. 300 is just chock full of testosterone and, well, comic-book storytelling and fighting...imagine that. Expecting anything more from it is like trying to get lossless audio on an HD DVD...it just doesn't work .

I also loved Casino Royale. IMHO, it is reference quality all around. Absolutely pristine, one of SPHE's best releases to date.

Goodfellas left me disappointed. Many shots looked flat and lacking detail, and some rather severe ghosting in a few instances threw me for a loop. While this BD release was revelation in comparison to all previous DVD releases of the movie, I was just underwhelmed with the whole thing. Same with the audio--the narrators' voices, while very pitchy and almost whiny in real life, still just sounded compressed and lacking the depth that Warner achieved even with the lossy track on March of the Penguins--which was nothing but Morgan Freeman's voice. And then compared to Daniel Craig's monologue to start off Layer Cake--well, lets just Goodfellas came up lacking.

This is currently my favorite movie...have watched it six times since the end of January, and I have been wery wery busy with other things.

Maybe that will all change when I see No Country for Old Men though....even though its a completely different genre.

Just curious, what didn't you like about 3:10? I promise to be civil

I was slightly disappointed...more of a character study than anything. The acting was brilliant, but I wasn't thrilled with the actual cinematics.

And i really think movies like I Robot and Transformers will be overated. I saw both at the theatre and i wouldnt even rent them again no matter how good the PQ is.

Definitely 300--boy, what a bad movie. Anyone with a mega-budget can create the visuals, so that's no excuse for this film. And the plot? Need I say more? Obnoxious to say the least. The PQ isn't great either, grain everywhere--no, I don't care what the director intended, it sucked anyway.

Oh, and one more: 3:10 To Yuma. Don't understand what fuss is about at all. Wish Clint Eastwood was still making westerns.

I'd definitely have to agree with other people here and say "300" is my choice for most overrated movie. It was an ok film but it was so hyped up by so many people that I guess I was just expecting a lot more. The movie for the most part was kind of boring.

Well, its not on BD just yet, but all the praise for the Bourne Trilogy suprises me. I actually think they are boring and the plot lines are one dimensional.

I know this isn't on blu,not yet anyway, but I am so damn sick of seeing thread after thread about Transformers. Sure the special effects were nice, but overall the movie I thought wasn't as great as everyone made it out to be. I'll stick to the original animated movie, that I hope we get stateside.
No way 3:10 looked awesome

All 3 of these movies repesent film at it's best imo. They are all groundbreaking in their own way.

Transformers when it comes out.

Horrible movie. That whole scene with the autobots attempting to hide outside the guy's house is embarrassingly bad. Movie is good up til then, after that, unbareably bad.

So as far as most people on this forum are concerned, any movie that requires you to think a little or isn't wall-to-wall tits, robots and laser beams sucks?
