It's a different distributor in Japan, Universal released them over there. What their Japanese BD plans are, I have no idea.

I love how people keep making such a big deal about "The Whole Bloody Affair". A version of both movies none of you have ever seen. You don't even know if putting both movies together would even work as a full length film. I loved how 1 & 2 were totally different styles and I think they both work as separate films. Putting them together might not be a great idea. So how about you guys get off the bandwagon until you've actually seen "The Whole Bloody Affair" before begging for it on Blu-ray.

I don't see how combining two good films (that were supposed to be together anyway) and presenting it uncut would be a bad thing. But to each his own.

Remember, Kill Bill was supposed to be one movie until someone decided to split it into two parts, most likely to make more box office money.

Personally, I kind of want to own them as vol 1 and 2 and as the whole bloddy affair. I just can't imagine always wanting to watch both in one sitting and I'd feel obligated to do so with the whole bloddy affair (I'm weird that way)

Plus - who knows how long it will be before we ever see the whole bloody affair

Tarantino was concerned that he had made a film far too long and went to the Weinsten's and they said he shouldnt cut a thing and just make it two seperate films.

It worked as far as Im concerned

It worked, but i personally like part 1 over 2. There was alot more action in 1, while 2 had more "talking".

I was a good boy and never bought the standard DVD versions, no matter how badly I wanted them (much like I've somehow done with Apocalypse Now). So I'll be buying the films on BD day one...TWBA be damned.

When you watch those movies alone they are way longer. Deathproof was cut down significantly when it was coupled with planet terror.

I doubt very highly that "The Whole Bloody Shin-dig" is as simple as not-running-credits on the first movie and just linking them up.

Your choice, but I think if you own both, you will not find your money wasted.
+1 These will be different cuts of the film.

Default Kill Bill "the Whole Bloody Affair"???

Went to preorder this on AMAZON.com when I noticed the terrible reviews. I thought, "Wait a minute, "WHAT?". Upon review of the reviews I found that the WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR was going to be announced right after KILL BILL was released. IS that a crock or what. The reviewers weren't bashing the movie they were bashing the dirty tactics. Wanted to pass this along to the Blu community....

It's coming, it's just a question of when. It may still be another 1-2 years away.

It's all up to Tarantino and Weinstein.

If you look at the spine of the package it clearly states "DVD". If you're dying to see it as one big, COLOR film, then buy the DVD. If you can wait, wait. I'm just going to sell my DVDs and pick up the Blu.

That pic is from Comic Con 2006.

And yes, it's the DVD, but common sense says a BD release is also coming. And it's more than just one long movie in color. There is extra gore that was cut for the original release, and Uma Thurman said there was extra anime scenes that will be added into the film:

Quote:
It looks as if we’ll get to “see” real soon, perhaps as part of an expanded DVD release, Thurman teased, indicating that the short will be part of a larger re-release for “Kill Bill.”

“Right now he’s putting the two films together with an intermission with an added anime sequence he had already written,” she said of the ongoing saga of Beatrix Kiddo. “So additional stories are in there, in animation.”
