I bought this cause it has great action/violence/gore. The fight scenes are great, but the acting really ruins this movie. Also the dark scenes don't really help. Mainly though i just couldn't find anyone who could even decently act.

Altogether i thought the action is a vast improvement than the 1st but actors were alot better in the first. Another improvement is that the Predator in this one really kicks @$$ compared to the 3 that seem to get killed immediately in the first AVP.

just gotta go into it like this little guy -> lol
O btw this could not have been more right. No one cares at all about the kids, just whiny retards. When a certain one, i won't say which, gets killed by the throwing disc i laughed sooooo hard!!!!!!

the predators in the first one were on their first hunt they were doing a rite of passage to earn their shoulder cannons thats why they got taken out so easily while Wolf in the second one was a Vet and knew what he was doing.

Whoever said this movie had been dark wasn’t kidding. In many places I couldn’t make out if I am seeing an alien, a predator, or agent Desseler from 24.

finally saw this movie, but i don't know what people are talking about when they speak of crushed blacks. Beautiful inky blacks all around. I don't know if it was because I was using a hi contrast plasma but everything was easily discernible and looked gorgeous

Yes it was a very dark movie but I didn't think the darkness was all the bad. I watched it in the dark, on a 50" Panasonic plasma and it looked plenty watchable. Maybe people don't have their brightness/contrast setup right or prehaps the people having a hard time are watching this movie on a LCD in vivid mode.. I dunno. I don't get why people make it out to be terribly unwatchable.

:edit: I see me and wormraper have the same mindset.

I have a 52-inch Sharp Aquos (10000:1 contrast ratio) and it's set to full blast. It's not set-up as it should be, but I like it that way. Must be something about my retinas.

That's the problem with Plasmas. At least with the LCD, I don't have to use sandpaper. Mister Clean's Magic Eraser does the trick!

AVP1 = 1 disc (same as the original release) special features are 2 commentaries and some HD trailers

AVP2 = 2 discs. 1 disc for the movie and a digital copy disc that has a digital copy that you can transfer to your computer or Ipod type device.

Extras are pretty decent. Some featurrettes, some trailers, some commentaries and a bdlive type feature that my player can't access.
