i had an xbox (sold it) and i had gears 1, didnt think it was anything special at all. saying that my expectations for games are extremly high (i still play the original cs and have been playing it for 8 years, and i mantain that it beats any other game for online play)

On a side note.I totally spaced out the fact that MOTORSTORM 2 is in the works.I totally forgot about that one. Looked pretty promising. Ohh and that RESISTANCE retribution looked pretty dope.
Its a 3rd person shooter which im wayyy more into than first person.

Sony had PSP, PS2 and PS3 COVERED. Plus, the massive improvements to the PS Store with the video section that allows you to transport digital titles to PC and PSP via PS3.

Maybe the Netflix service is low quality. Maybe it isn't. All Sony did was bring itself in-line with XBL in regards to video rentals and purchases.

The PS3 has been out for over 1.5 years. It's close to two. How many more years until we see a next gen system from MS? Probably less than 4.

No, that is a genuine response from someone who is sick and tired for being bashed for liking anything that isn't on the PS3. This board has serious problems. People got yelled at for simply critiquing MGS4, which AliceT covered very well in that thread. If you like a M$ (LOL SEE WHAT I DID THAR?) product, you're immediately labeled some fanboy and trashed as if Sony was writing you checks in the mail for being a PS3 supporter. He may be out of line, but he represents how a lot of people feel.

1. In response to comments on MAG. I don't believe this game is going to be a FPS, more of a TPS that resembles SOCOM (after all these are the same people who did the SOCOM series for PS2). It isn't going to be a a 250 person free for all either. But I do see your point with it becoming ridiculous.

3. I would guess less than 3. This is going to create a very intresting 8th generation. If Nintendo goes casual again and the PS4 and XBOX Phoneix have a 2 year gap between them, they are going to be three very different consoles. There will be so much different between PS4 and Xbox Phoneix that they won't be compeating too much against each other as PS4 will run all over Phoenix in terms of power and quality, however within two-three years of PS4 coming out MS will have released another console that runs all over PS4 and it continues.

there is no need for cussing under any circumstances by all means express how you feel. you can express anger without cussing though. cussing is childish and will not earn you any respect

IMO he's the one who supports the trolling from the rabid PS3 fans and then punishes anyone who has a different opinion from the "PS3 purists." He once told me he could infer intent on anything I posted and didn't have to read a post within the context of the thread. That was enough for me to see how things were really run. I'd like to see a more moderate mod take over anyway.

I bash people constantly about the 360. However it does have qualities I like, and there are people who talk about it rationally who I have great respect for (see: xtop, WickyWoo).

The problem is that half of the time the people from the 360 side enter a conversation with the belief that they will be yelled at. As a result, there's an attitude of 360 superiority/defensiveness implicit in everything they say. It's sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Enter the thread that way and you will get yelled at. Then you got exactly what you expected, so the next time you enter a thread it's even more expectant, and the air of superiority/defensiveness grows.

Another large percentage of the time, people who would otherwise be rational see category #1 get yelled at, and they start arguing back. Shortly thereafter they turn into #1.

Most of the remainder truly are 360 fanboys. Their first post to this board is generally "Come on guys, you have to admit that the 360 is a much better gaming system than the PS3." or "I only game on my 360, the PS3 has crap for games". Well, duh. Of course those people are going to get flack.

Unfortunately this whole things starts a vicious cycle, where pro-PS3 people get pushed further away from pro-360 people. This happens on message boards with ANY topic, so I don't know why people are surprised. People who are neutral appear to be pro-PS3 on one side and pro-360 on the other, so they are in a no win situation and stop reading.

*EDIT* One additional point: Having both consoles in no way makes people neutral.
