i just find it amazing how the manage to fit 5 discs in something so thin, anyone remember the old 2 dvd cases, the ones fox used to use in some of their 5 star collection.

I quite like it. I like discs compacted into smaller cases.
when I think back to all my dvds, some box sets are huge. some have one large case per disc!! like the Star Wars and Indy Jones boxsets are shitely/cheaply packed. and as for the American BD smaller cases for normal BDs - they are not released like that in Britian. just normal chunky cases. quite like importing as the cases are smaller. I had no idea there was a thicker version until now. You know, I'd actually kind of like the thicker case if it keeps the discs better protected. I noticed last night that the DVD had all these marks that I never noticed before (I bought the set last March), perhaps a result of the disc's shiny surface being too close to the plastic in the case. The Blu-Rays seem fine though, so at least that's the main thing.
Also, I think WB changed the case a little at some point, compared to the one posted on page 3. The spindles are different, and look much easier to use. I'll try and get pictures up. |

just got a "new" 5 disc Blu set for Blade Runner (didn't want to wear out my briefcase set) and noticed the thinner case, ok, but buttons for disc release are EXTREMELY difficult to release - so bad I'm looking for a thicker 5 disc DVD case, ideally with M-locks.....the original briefcase Blu set uses a much more accessible center release..............also, for any other Blade Runner fanatics out there with a briefcase set, who are disappointed with the handle, designed for a 3-year old, you might look at a Pelican 1470 in black, with pick-and-pluck foam....~$100.00,...a military grade protection case which should be just big enough to enclose a briefcase collection ( STILL IN ORIGINAL CASE )....just add a custom engraved case label (available from Pelican's web site) ( ~$13.00 ) that says: Voight Kampff.....Voila!............this is my plan...can't afford to do it just yet.....

Is it possible to know whether you're getting the thin or thick case when ordering online? I'd like to get the thicker one but have no idea how to!
