Does anyone have a Blu-ray drive and a copy of the defective Iron Man BD? If so please test it and report.

I just checked Best Buy's website and the Blu Ray version of Iron Man was removed

This has been a big quality control miss and better not happen again.

Luckily caught before the official release date. Could have been some very bad press if not caught.

My first review copy of this title skipped every so often in both the PS3 and Sony 350. Paramount just sent me a replacement disc and it plays fine.

Not bad press for blu-ray. Bad press for Paramount who did a crappy job with the release.

Is there any difference between the cases for the original and replacement copies? Like different product number or UPC? Some way to verify that you're getting the correct one at retail?

Yeah mine played fine, which caught me by surprise of a new one being delivered.

Sorry, but the replacement disc came in a CD case, not the actual entire product again. The new Blu-ray SKU is different, but not sure what it is, just what I've been told.

No man, it couldhave been bad for BD in general.

Imagine if a movie was released that didn't really work and no fix for all players. Imagine that on CNN or something and scaring ppl away even longer.

You know what CNN or whoever would do with this... run up the fear factor and have everyone hating blu in no time.

This could have been disasterous.

i got my iron man blu in the mail from tower.com on saturday and have watched it at least 6 times since then and have had no problems at all with it! It is a pefectly fine blu.

yes it is...as of 11:50am 9/23/08. I just went to tower.com, and typed in "iron man blu-ray", and it came up for sale, so maybe it's back up!
