I also agree. It's slightly off subject, but I'll believe a rubber puppet before a computer graphic. Maybe it's because my video-gamer eyes are used to computer animation when they see it, but puppets at least resemble tangible elements in space. Yoda is my best example, the puppet looked like you could reach out and grab him, the CGI Yoda looked like a Video Game character.

Take a look at the craptastic puppet of Yoda from Episode 1.

I can't wait til they replace that monstrosity with the CGI Yoda created for E2.

It's also easier, {and cheaper} to light a puppet and match up the lighting while on set.

Compared to the amount you'd have to spend on 100 programmers just to get this or that pixel the right shade of green, it's worth less to spend the money on one puppeteer and one person to design the puppet.

Lucas needs to be in "sleep" mode when it comes to making movies. Forever!

Honestly, I think the character has had his time. I say let's reflect upon the good memories.

The BR is really great.

I hope next time, there's no jungle anymore, but that in the spirit of National Treasure, Indy gets into an adventure all modern 50's town set. Also keep him being investigated by the CIA for suspicion of communism, that's good.

The best shot in the movie is Indy walking up to the nuclear mushroom. Mythical. I want more greasers and more rock'n'roll !

Not the way I'll be making films, that's for sure.

I do.

A scene with two guys fighting it out, or a gun fight, traditional movie scenes, not CGI laden giant ants and driving through the jungle and being able to do so with great speed.

Fake Snakes are better than CGI gophers.

First of all, matte shots are different from making the entire scene out of CGI effects. Having one scene blue-screen is one thing, having the MAJORITY of the movie is another entirely.

Very few of the original Indy movies were shot against Blue-Screen and those that were {temple of doom} sucked.

It's not just me saying it either, you obviously didn't pay ANY attention to the poll that was on here a few months ago stating which Indy film people liked the best, {I'll give you a hint as to who won, it WASN'T temple of Doom} just because you liked it and noone else did, doesn't make it a good movie.

I've actually watched all 3 of the originals in preparation of going to the theaters to see the 4th. It didn't stop my choking on the tradition of the old Indy films, or the retching for the simple makeup of story and plot development.

First of all, isn't necrobumping a crime punishable by the cutting off of hands in some countries?

Second of all, no, I didn't go to film school. I went to school for film editing, most of my experience comes from *DOING* {on set}as opposed to sitting in a classroom listening to a professor while I sat there bored.

There's going to be an extended debate regarding this movie. I am all for it as long as Harrison Ford plays a major part.

Wow, even if you could tell the cgi yoda was fake, the extra facial movement allowed etc, to me outweighs the negative. Did Davy Jones look fake to you? (for me he looked photo realistic, and many people initially thought the face was a mask/make up with cgi tentacles, but not that the whole character was cgi, albiet based on a real performance).

I think CGI and pupets have there place in film making (often together, such as in the case of Mr Wink in Hellboy 2).

I guess i'm one of the few who didn't mind the Aliens, but the deus ex machina was kinda annoying (why couldn't it have just been a city of gold?). The probalems in Indy 4 where elsewhere (the monkeys, gophers etc), though we did get the swarm of killer ants and of course Harison as Indy.

I didn't see the forth in cinemas after some negativity towards it (plus and more imprtantly I didn't have time to see it), but after sieng the forth i'd deff go and see the fifth if time allowed.
