Trouble w/ The Happening

I have a new Acer 7720 note book with a 0ptiarc BD ROM 5500A. The only BD's I have right now is the sample disc, and the Happening.

The sample disc plays fine. When I try to play the Happening I just get a blank screen.

So, in addition to the issues with the Happening, tonight I bought a copy of Hell Boy II, popped the disc in and it won't even load, all I get is "incompatible disc" and the Sharp ejects the disc.

I've tried power cycling the player with no luck, given the price tag on these things this is utter nonsense.

Has anyone else had a similar experience??

Yes, I am having the same problem and have no idea what to do. I First thought it was the disk and got a new one and this one does the same thing. Anyone have a cure

I don't know if that helps at all but I have a Samsung BD-P 1400 and Omen 1&2 don't seem to work. Actually I got the first one to work by selecting a random Chapter and then skipping back. With Part 2 that trick doesn't work anymore, because no matter what I try I always get back to the menu but with the menu text missing. In the US there is a new firmware available for the BD-P 1400. Sadly it has not been released in Europe yet. But "The Happening" did work fine. I only have problems with the Omen Series.

There has been a new firmware update which I've installed and it has cured the issue with The Happening, check the Sharp webiste for the file.
