Might just pick up the PC version. The 3rd person view is somewhat unappealing to me when compared to the classic overhead view (which neither console supports... which is perplexing to me). Plus, the latter masks some of the obvious visual flaws in the game. There are other pluses to the aforementioned perspective - better view of AoE spells for one. Plus, checking out all the video reviews, it seems much easier to navigate all the menus in the PC version. If it was between consoles, I'd go PS3 (especially since it seems to be the superior version), but when you factor in that this game was designed for the PC gamer, I have to go with PC.

I think that's definitely true to a certain extent, but because of all the reasons I mentioned above, plus my developed fondness for the old-school view, I can't buy the console version knowing that I won't even have the option of switching to the overhead perspective.

Amazon shipped my Collector's Edition (PC, though) on Monday and will be here today.
I'm excited. With the better _everything_ on PC plus the Toolset being PC only AND the PC version costing $10 less there was no way in hell I was going to get a console version of the game. ![]() The Gamestop near me had some PS3 collector's versions yesterday as did Best buy. But, I was at both right near opening so not sure how long those lasted. The same thing happened with NWN and NWN2. Basically, if you didn't pre-order a CE you had to hit up every possible seller right at opening (or convince them to get one out of the back the night before) to get it. Otherwise, they were gone forever (aside from ebay which seems to be where forever ends). Was the same with CE's for WoW as I recall also. Big mistake to not pre-order if you wanted a CE. HUGE mistake. ![]() |

Good news I think, Best Buy thinks they got my preorder in.. it took them 30 - 35 minutes to figure out where it is..
And after asking me to identify how to tell the difference between the collectors edition and the regular edition.. they decided they needed to find someone more important and they said they got them, there at the warehouse.. but they have them in the store.. So im slightly confident it will be there within a certain limit of failure unless they chose to give it out before I get there. So im thinking 85% - 90% that its there 10% - 15% chance that it wont be there. Threw im concerned with the wording of the warehouse, perhaps there talking about the stocking room, she said something about finally putting them out, which translate from best buy talk means most likely they forgot to put them out, which happens actually more often then anyone would want to admit. |

So... after all the commenting on preorder mishaps and how awesome the cloth map from the collector edtion is, what do you guys think about the game? Personally, for some reason I was under the impression that this was a hack & slash RPG so initially I'm a little dissapointed (but that's my own fault). The PS3 version looks really nice and the voice acting is spot on. As of right now, I'm not a huge fan of the combat system...

Well I went and it was there, they had a couple of collectors edition but it was hidden behind other games, it took them awhile to find it.
btw when did firmware 3.01 get released? Its required to play dragon ages. Which has the firmware loaded on the disc. |
