That's nice. But why would thanos ressurect a bunch of losers who failed the first time around when he could have his own army and generals that are new characters. Characters that could be played by actors who DONT hate the movies.

And yes. There's still emotional levity to seeing planets blow up. They could make them planets from GotG. Or hell, just go the Star Wars route and have reaction shots from people as they die. It's not like the MCU actually has emotional levity to begin with. They're pretty much boom, bang, boom to start with.

They still feel like real characters though, unlike half the ones in Transformers where Michael Bay favours stuff blowing up over emotional character moments. You'd have never got Coulson's death by Loki in a Michael Bay movie.

If the planets were real like Knowhere then maybe it could work but to me I would rather see characters with a shared history interact and the consequences of fighting Thanos over 'Ooh look, another planet exploded!' (even with shots of the planet's inhabitants reacting to it, which I still don't think would give you enough of that stuff).

Doing something unique and and least half original with Thanos' power is far, far better than rehashing old, beaten villains as nothing more than roadblocks. You seriously have no idea how worn and hoary of a trope that is.

Iron Many dying makes a ton of sense. Downey is super expensive and ain't getting any younger. You could also put anyone in that armor for a soft reboot Iron Man 4, be it Rhodes or a new character. Maybe the SHIELD chick.

They don't have the balls though, as someone else already said.

Just because it's a trope doesn't mean it's bad. Pretty much any idea has been done once before anyway.

Dont kill off Iron Man, just send him off on a happy ending. Have him marry Pepper Potts and settle down out of the picture. Have him appoint a successor as the Iron Man after Infinity Wars Part 2

You do realize Michael Bay has nothing to do with the concept of a planet exploding right? He's not the only person that's made things go boom. And if you think Michael Bay only makes the terrible transformers films, I'd advise you to check out some of his other films. Some of them are great.

Bad Boys, The Rock, Pain and Gain, The Island, Armageddon, 13 Hours!

I'll even give Bay the first Transformers, Bad Boys II (even with how self indulgent it is...and that it rips off Jackie Chan's Police Story towards the end...), and even parts of Dark of the Moon. He's not nearly as void of a filmmaking eye as people like to say he is...

Most. Have you seen any of Bay's films outside of the Transformers franchise?

No, tropes aren't inherently bad, but this one is lame. I don't care to see such a creatively bankrupt retread: I prefer to see something original and interesting.

Any time you find yourself asking, "has dalek seen movie X?" The likely answer is: no

Is it ghostbusters or Doctor Who? No? Than the answer is no.

But seriously Dalek. Check out some of his other movies.

I've seen Pearl Harbour, which is good but hardly Titanic.

Agreed.
Armageddon has 'emotional levity' running through it like a stick of rock, it gets really mushy in some parts because of the astronaut's families, friends and girlfriends back here on old Terra Firma.
