Bull Moose seems to have the best price on a couple of new releases this week:

Vox Lux - $17.97

How are Bull Moose with items listed as "Out of stock rare item. We will try to get it for you." and how long before they let you know if they can get them?

If they can't get it, they'll email within a couple days to let you know.

Depends on the reason it;s considered Rare -- if it's OOP then very low chance of it. I think I'm 0 for 3 on trying to get lucky. What item?

I guess it comes with the territory as they gain more customers via online sales but I have to admit my disappointment with my last couple of orders. In the first, I received two UHDs that I didn’t buy and inside was the invoice to some guy in Arkansas in addition to the item I did pay for. I emailed them to see what I should do with the discs, no response. So they sit in a separate mailer for the day something can be done with them. Sure I got what I paid for, but the no communication and mistake being made is a human error and mild inconvenience.

In today’s order, I didn’t get anything I ordered. I got some guy in Missouri’s LP. I sent in the email immediately once I realized it wasn’t the Us UHD. Now, I’m hopeful to get a response this time. But after last, trust ain’t there. The only reason I’m posting is because I haven’t gotten a response on either issue. It’s probably too early on this one but after two in a row, it’s worth posting about. I’ll ask them to send another copy out, hopefully I get it. And I’m going to lose some significant DC value since I’d planned to sell it off early in the morning tomorrow to offset my cost at the max I could.

Although I suspect this will be my next to last order with them. I’ll use my points and bail. I’m not ready after two incidents in rather quick succession to give them my business for the foreseeable future. It was fun while it lasted, I guess.

That's odd, which stores did those mess ups ship from (are they the same store)? I haven't encountered that issue and they've always responded back to my emails although it might take them a day or two to respond.

I always get my discs from the (South Portland) Mill Creek location. Looking over my last five bubble mailers/boxes, so 2 out of 5 in less than 2 months is troubling.

Hey guys!!!

I just placed my first BullMoose order for The Aftermath.

Amazon is a joke now. BestBuy only carries "event titles" and ebay has a bunch of sellers who sell "Brand New" but then if you read the fine print, it always says "Digital copy removed."

This is my last ditch effort to keep collecting and I can't believe how difficult it has become.

Every time I go to BestBuy (there are 5 in my area), the movie section gets smaller and smaller.

That's good to hear.

All they have to do is have the movie, take my payment and ship the movie.

That's all I ask for.

The only bad review they had didn't really sway me because apparently they cancelled somebody's Avril Levigne Vinyl order the day before release, but that was either out of their control or they were just doing a public service because you probably shouldn't be buying Avril Levigne records anyway

I completely understand how this is upsetting and deters you from wanting to buy more. But my experience in person at these stores (I used to frequent a lot of them when I used to live in NH 7 years ago) is that they are generally run by one or two competent "record store" people and then a handful of young flaky hipsters. So I fully expect there to be some mistakes, it just seems like you got hit with two in quick succession. Most of these guys make minimum wage and are just there to hang out, they are young and careless like many of us once were.

Movie wise I have had mostly good experiences with them but vinyl wise I have noticed there quality control has went wayyy down, at least for me.. One big thing as well is all 3 of my last orders had the best valued item "lost or they can't locate it" which was the main reason I even made the order so they cancel that and immediately send the other "filler" items which 2 of the times I would have def. not ordered unless trying to get to that free shipping mark.

3 out of the last 4 albums have been pretty damaged but the last one I got had tears and scratches in the cover and then the vinyl itself had scratches and some kind of short hairs (hoping they were from a pet ). This was the one I finally had enough as on top of the damage it was the item I bought pretty much just to hit the free shipping mark like I said above and they were extremely cold and told me they'd refund this time since it wasn't cost effective for them to pay for return shipping but it wont happen again.. lol? .. I have been buying from them for years and thats the first time I ever complained and I could have many times before but I am pretty easy going as far as all that goes normally.

The last used movie I bought from them was super beat up as well but I just lived with it and made the choice not to touch any of there used items as that's what I have mostly had a problem with over the years.

Sorry for the super long post but I will say one final thing to leave it on a bit more of a positive note.. Most times I contact them regarding any questions they are extremely helpful and nice which made it that much more frustrating when they were so cold when it came to an actual issue. I have already shopped and looked there much less then I used to but i'll still buy some new stuff here and there.

Usually BestBuy has been good about getting movies but it is getting harder.

I can't even imagine not buying movies anymore. I've been buying movies every week on release day since the VHS days of Suncoast Video in the early 90's.

They're making it so hard.

I pretty much stopped bothering to go into Best Buy anytime I'm at the mall. The movie and video game section were the only reasons I ever went in there and those areas are so reduced I already know what I'm going to see, only the new releases and nothing else worthwhile, so I don't bother spending the three minutes to walk in, look around and walk out. The only time of year I do go into Best Buy is during Black Friday when they bring in all the shippers. Target has a better in store selection which would be mind boggling 5 years ago.

Of course, the best in-person selection anywhere in my state is Bullmoose. I'm fortunate to have a store located only one mile from my house.

Since the topic is about used items currently, I'm not sure I would ever take a chance on an unseen used item, even from Bullmoose. The only time I buy used online is on eBay if they have adequate photos depicting the condition of the item. I would probably relax that stipulation if it's a rare item but for common titles where you're just trying to save a dollar or two, it's not worth the hassle not knowing what condition you'll get.

having a Bullmoose near you is probably a big reason why you own almost 2500 blu rays

and yeah, I just can't bring myself to trust used blu rays....

Well here we are, two days later.

I got my movie. The corners of the slipcase were a little smashed but other than that I'm happy with the order. I think Bull Moose will be a good alternative in a pinch.

Pet Sematary double packs (2019 and 1989) are cheap at BullMoose.

4k = 29.97

Just picked one up at the Scarborough location.

Amazon had the 2k at 28 and the 4k at 40.

I've been looking for a good pre-order price for The Walking Dead Season 9 and it looks like the Moose gets my green. Even after 20% off here and there, still the best price. No Tax and Free Shipping for me. Also should their Pre-Order price drop closer to release date, they will adjust your order automatically.

The Walking Dead Complete Season Nine - $39.97

Does anyone know if Bull Moose adjusts pre-order prices? I pre-ordered Apocalypse Now 4K a few weeks ago at $19.97 but I'm seeing it on the site for $17.97 now. I didn't get charged yet since it seems like they charge when they ship.
