I didn't know that....now I will have to replay it after I finish Awakening. Speaking of that, did you get it to work?

I haven't tried it yet. I was playing some Mortal Kombat(Tournament is mine) I'm about to try it when I get back on

Damn, how did I miss that. Yup, all the DLC is there and now I'm installing it.

Hey guys,

question for ya all,

after a few decades of being game-free (I grew up with Atari 2600 and coleco vision), I crossed paths with Zelda Twilight Princess on the wii last year and became obsessed. I hadn't realized how involving the storyline of a good RPG could be but I'm now convinced. So after that I decided to test gaming waters with my PS3 (I had bought way back when as a blu-ray player but never had played any actual games) and have so far been enjoying the god of war collection (in preparation for GOW III which I've already purchased) as well as some of the classic Prince of Persia PS2 ports to HD for the PS3 (both GOW and POP are aweseome though a bit linear and lacking in characters and complexity like Zelda).

But I'm still missing that all-involving sensation of "taking a trip to another world" that I had with Zelda Twilight Princess, and from reading what folks are saying in this thread, it sounds like Dragon Age Origins is just that sort of game.... the kind of game experience that leaves you feeling sad that it's over, even after a hundred hours of game-play.

Is my hunch correct? How many of you guys have also played Zelda and how do you compare the two exeriences? I'm not looking for something identical to Zelda, just that I'd like to experience another game that really makes me feel involved in the storyline and characters in a fatasy adventure that makes it hard to put down the controller and call it a night.

cheers,

dave

It's funny that you mention Zelda. If you probably go back a page you'll see my post saying I haven't felt this way about a game since Ocarina of Time. You don't want to the game to be over and when it is you're sad

Yes, it was reading your post that in fact prompted my thought. Regarding Zelda, I played Twilight first, and then later got the game cube adapter to play OOT on the wii in an attempt to perpetuate the gaming bliss because I had heard so much about how OOT was so groundbreaking in its day. But I think that I've discovered that whether or not folks consider OOT "the best game ever" or Twilight Princess to take the upper hand probably depends more upon which one they played first... OOT was interesting, but after Twilight it felt like a repeat with less evolved graphics and game play. However, I can easily understand how folks who played OOT first would have felt that Twilight was a repeat with some additional gloss and darker style, as it really was a reinvisioning of OOT in many key ways.

But regardless of the particular Zelda title that tips one's fancy, your post definitely suggested what I've been hoping... that the Zela fantasy world that absorbed 100+ hours of my life is an experience that Dragon Age also has the potential to accomplish. I'm looking for the next title to have waiting for me on the shelf after finishing GOW II and III.

Yeah, I just got done playing. I literally played for a couple hours straight. I'm glad you told how me to play the DLC. Now I can enjoy the story even more. I couldn't really stand DA2.

I absolutely adore Origins but I'm kind of interested in importing my save into DA2. Seeing as how I didn't import anything into my first DA2 play through.

I'm loving DA2. I'm 28 hours in now. This series is like the ultimate escape.

Could Bioware be my favorite gaming company? I mean the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series are the best things I've ever played in my life. I put them over everything, past and present

I agree. Mass Effect and Dragon Age have easily been the most enjoyable games I have played in a long time. I think I'm enjoying Origins a little more than Mass Effect though. I can't wait to get home and play Awakening.

After playing DA2 I really can't stand DAO's combat system. It's so slow. I have yet to play any of the DLC's

DA2's combat system is nice and improved. The Mage feels more badass, that's for sure. I just don't really like the level up system. I like the way it is in Origins. I don't like that stupid tree diagram. Plus there is just way too many enemies in DA2. I feel like I'm constantly overwhelmed. You fight a couple guards, then more jump down and they keep coming. You fight like 50 shades and then a Rage Demon comes out. It was impossible for me to beat on Normal and I'm in the beginning. Since Mr. J hooked me up with how to play the DLC, I went back to Origns and I'm enjoying it more than I was with DA2.

And sorry I'm not doing Zevran.

A foursome better include me and 3 females.....and seeing as how Wynne is too old, I'm only left with Leliana and Moorigan. I'm with Denoku, Zevran can .....I don't understand everyone's obsession with the dude.

.....besides.....he betrayed me
