If or When you watch it, please report back on it. The review makes it look like a Reference Bluray for Audio & Video, so I'm hoping the LFE (especially with our "Dualies") is as praise-worthy as expected.

Yea, the 1st 30 mins. might be the most talked about opening sequences in movie history. When they land at Omaha Beach & those 23 or so minutes (from when the scene actually starts), you Really get a feeling for what it might have been like.

Two times I've seen grown men cry in a theater. First time was After "PLATOON" ended. The 2nd time was when this one ended. Talk about POWERFUL films, with SPR being a Masterpiece of the War Film genre, & PLATOON in the same ballpark, IMO.

(PS: I ordered "SPR" earlier tonite, it should be here sometime next week)

watched MOON again , lastnight,... this time with the wifey... i guess there is no pleasing some ppl... her comments were "this movie is slow and boring,,, where is the action" but if it were an action movie she would be complaining that its a guy flick,,,

bottom line,, she was captured in the movie... not something she would watch again but something she would recommend...

i think im gonna hold off and continue to save up for a new rcvr...lol..lol... i think i spent about 200bux on dvd/blurays since friday... jeez

Yup, before that I was using batman TDK as my reference blu but I should be picking up SPR this weekend and will give it a run. Hoping to come back with a bit of hearing loss

Steve,

I must say that the whole movie, Shaving Ryans Privates it an LFE masterpiece. It got too late for me to watch the last battle scene, but the opening is just a doozy... I think you will love it once you watch the movie.

Cool. My copy should be here mid-late next week.

I watched APOLLO 13 yesterday at a nice volume (-18 to -16) and the Dualies' really had a field day. The Launch sequence & Re-Entry especially kicked some Major LFE out. Excellent Audio track overall, very nice transfer.

Hey buddy -- I bought tix online last week, have back row just right of Center for the 4:40pm show. Oh did I mention, we'll be seeing it in an IMAX THEATER!!!

Maybe I'll try to throw in IRON MAN around 12pm as I'm leaving to meet my buddy around 2:15-2:30pm.

Got my sub last night. Didn't have much time to mess around with it, but I did get it all calibrated in the corner where my old sub was. Watched Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus which had a really good sound, but wasn't very bass heavy. There were a couple bangs and this thing produced. I have been listening to the "boomy" bass for the last couple years due to my underpowered old sub. What a difference, even for a movie that didn't have a lot of bass, I can't believe I've been missing out this long. It's actually to the point where the boomy muddy bass became normal to me, so this is an adjustment!

I still have to move it around because I'm hearing better bass outside of my seating area now. I'm gonna try and put it on the side wall, if I put it on the side or behind me, do I want to mess with the PHASE or should it always keep at 0?

To tag on eddysnake I just received my Pa-120 Sub and wow, I didn't even know what I was missing either. Did the test tones, and(On my movie channels) Watched Transporter 3, and 300 was on tnt last night not a blue ray but still amazing bass from the PA. Seeing as we are in an apartment I'm going to stay with 1 sub untill we move and I get my dedicated basement , but even the wife was like that's crazy never heard that type of sound before watching television.

Plus it's the most aesthetic Sub ive seen, it's very pretty with the shiny top. But I also would like to know what setting should I place the sub on in terms of the 3 nobs??

i think it comes with a lil booklet that explains that... but if not... set the volume to 6... put the xover at 200hz and leave the phase at 0.... adjust everything else from the rcvr

Well this thing is a beast, I just found some old CD's dedicated strictly for bass and this thing pounds. I definitely need to move it around though and get a better location (room permitting), now I understand why it's not going to be fun to move this thing around, it's not light, but it is very nice looking, goes great with my new riser and speakers!
