What? There are plenty of critics who like the dark tone from DC. Many of the main criticisms for BvS were some of terrible writing and plot points. I didn't notice "we need jokes" as a main complaint.

I never said that, only that the critics who are paid to review the films agree with me.

I've seen a few reviews that have said that, most notably Empire.

Oh, this film looks awesome. Plus I am jealous she gets to find a washed ashore Chris Pine. That never happens when I'm at the beach!

You let all the critics decided your opinion on a film for you? Or is it just that you've shaped your opinion around what they say? Who's saying if you watched Batman Vs Superman, you might be able to connect to the tone and the ideas that are being presented? Instead of letting others dictate what film should be, discover it for yourself and challenge what they present as being norm.

I wound up agreeing with them, I think the film has the subtlety of a lead balloon and feels as angsty as a stroppy teenager after his first breakup. But there were parts I disagreed with the critics, and I certainly have a bit more respect for those that were able to find enjoyment in the film and challenge what the mass consensus is believing than someone who has let others decide what it is for them.

He wants Adam West's Batman, Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, and shapes his opinion around what critics say. Why even bother at this point?
