Also, it's not a money grab. That would be if we just got a new slipcover with the same disc. This is a movie being released on the latest format for the first time. Most of us are very excited about The Matrix 4k.
Well said

That guy went into a bunch of topics today claiming that all the releases were money grabs or that some 4K releases cost too much because the movie came out a long time ago. I would take his posts with a grain of salt.

I’m pretty sure I paid $40 CDN for the DVD 20 years ago. I’m fine dropping $35 to own it on 4K.

We will need LOTS of Steak screen grabs for comparison.

Which one looks juicier and has better resolved highlights and detail.

I unfortunately think I’m with you.

I want it, but it’s nuts they aren’t releasing the trilogy.

This figure doesn't account for inflation too. VHS often cost 60-80$ on release. In 80's money.

The market isn't overcharging us. I'd love all titles to be 10$, personally, but the factories and the delivery chain aren't streamlined enough yet. Elon Musk thinking on mass productions and distribution permitting we can expect under 10$ for these ...

We are just used to "deals" because of online retailers and sales and the companies sometimes having to stomach slim margins for pushing their stock. Or the studios rather a 'good look' on units sold than straight margins

Back cover screen grabs/photos are almost never reflective of the actual look of the film.

Yep. They're usually publicity stills, not "screen grabs".

And often color graded to match the box art.

Can't think of a single reason that i want the second film on 4K. The third one maybe, but i'll stick with just the first for now.
