Do any of you guys have a high-quality version of the cover for Target? Also, I noticed that the same cover was released in Japan, but the illustration by another artist has differences, the little mermaid has a different coloring, another ursula, flounder the stone on which Ariel lies is also of a different shape and texture. Apparently, two different illustrators did...maybe there is more information in which countries releases with such a cover were released?

The Target cover was altered to the Japanese one, it was only used in the mockup.

I just bought the Zavvi 4K Steelbook of TLM. The 2K blu ray is still the flawed Diamond Edition with the audio sync and frame swap of Part of Your World. I've put a complaint with Disney UK (I do have the corrected Diamond Edition and US Signature 4K Edition but I'm not interested with disc swapping till I get to the bottom of this). Let's see what they say.

It's not like the Blu disc was ever meant to be anything other than that Diamond edition, Disnee are not concerned about giving us Britishers newer BDs in the UHD package. If they do anything than politely tell you to **** off I'd be surprised.

I sorta like the look of the old blu-ray, the grain is often more prominent than on the UHD. I always felt the UHD was a bit too scrubbed.

It is, but to my eyes it still looks like fuzzy digital shite on the old BD rather than authentic film grain. Prefer the UHD I do.

The colors look muted in comparison, her seashells are almost grey, and her hair is a little bit browner in my opinion.

Oh I definitely prefer the UHD, but I also...don't...hate...the blu-ray. Lol.

I think the colours were mostly fine on the blu, but in comparison, yes they're certainly more vibrant on the UHD.

I agree, while I prefer the UHD, I wouldn't describe the old Blu-ray as "shite". I think The Little Mermaid is one of the Disney films that received the better treatment on physical media.
I always loved The Little Mermaid in Hebrew (party because it's nostalgic for me), but they stopped releasing physical here before TLM came out, so I ripped the audio from the DVD and the video from the old Blu-ray and combined them together, so whenever I watch TLM in Hebrew it's the old Blu-ray.

What did you think about Beauty and the Beast in terms of Blu-ray vs UHD?

I love this movie, I was absolutely OBSESSED with it as a kid (and how my parents didn't know I was gay from that I'll NEVER know lol). It was also the first VHS I ever owned (you know, the black diamond one with the d*ck on the cover). Still have it too.

Then I saw Jaws when I was about 8, traded those fins for a few yellow barrels and that was the end of my Disney phase.

BATB was CAPS digital whereas (most of) TLM was not. That being said I thought the original Blu-ray for BATB had an annoying red push which is not present on the UHD thankfully.

UHD has better color though it's DNRed. By better I mean it better matches the early releases on home video.

It's been too long without any classics on uhd, Disney sucks these days.

I'd pay $100 for Sleeping Beauty on UHD.

I don't think it's happening. It's the 85th Anniversary of Snow White and it would have been the perfect time to release Snow White on UHD, but no they only rerelease it on standard Blu-ray as a DMC exclusive.

I'd love to see it, but I hope they do a remaster that's more faithful to the original animation. If i remember right, the Sleeping Beauty blu-ray looked nice, but parts of it looked completely digitally animated over.

I sense that. If Disney doesn't do anything about his, then I'll swap the Zavvi blu ray with my US Diamond Edition and sell that Diamond Edition @ CEX.

It's a shame Disney gives us the middle.finger in UK and Europe
