Browsed the in-store selection via the app, and the prices of the 4K titles (that I don’t already own/have been out for some time now) are simply horrendous.

The only thing that stores currently have that make the 20% deal somewhat worth it is that newer Wonder BD steelbook w/ slip for $19.99.

Ha! My bad on this one. I hadn't even noticed that the whole movie sale is in-store only, making it completely pointless. Yikes. Have they ever done that before? I guess there's another argument for Amazon matching because I just picked up 2 titles from them with their price-matching coupons, shipped, of course, and completely unavailable in-store titles.

Just for laughs, I did a BD search at Target and they only have about 3% of their movies available at my store:

Anyone spot a listed item that really wasn't a sale or more importantly find another set of sale dates? Obviously President's Day week seems to the common thread, with more added through the years. Then the Nov Sales the last couple years and a ton of added Sales presumably Covid related.

target has the ghostbusters 4k set for $99.99. It shows 20% off icon but it isn't taking it off, but sometimes chat can do it manually. Amazon is $149.99 for the same set

This also makes no sense. This is an in-store/local-only sale, so how can it possibly apply to pre-orders for Feb. 2022?

Since walmart is showing $145 and amazon is showing 149.99, i don't see it dropping that low that fast imo

$149.99 appears to be the full List Price. These initially high prices on pre-orders are constantly discussed in the forum. They always drop, and almost always well before release date too. If you have some reason to believe otherwise about this release, feel free to share.

Deep discount has it is for 85.36 but after taxes it still comes out to be more then the target price after the 20% off. The only qualm about waiting for the b2g1 sale, is you have to find another 2 high price items to make it worth it, and you never know they could raise the price on their site by then

Partially agree which is why I edited the post when I saw the actual MSRP -- you caught it before I got a chance to rethink the idea. For some reason I thought the MSRP was 110-120.

Deep Discount does have it for $77 with the current 10% off codes already. this seems to be an item that will drop in price pretty deep and pretty quickly though.

I dare say Target/Ingram has had far more trouble fulfilling orders than Deep Discount/Alliance over the last 2-3 years and even though Alliance packaging isn't anything special, it's 2 levels better than Ingram packing in general.

I'm baffled at the high price to begin with. Are there many Ghostbusters fans who don't already have 1 and/or 2 in UHD and I'm not seeing enough extra stuff to even come close to enticing me at $50, much less 80-120.

Saying this as someone who is still waiting on Andy Griffith from Target while many others already have theirs from most other sites.
IF Target eventually comes through, my Target price will certainly be worth it, but I have had several backordered Target items cancelled during the B2G1 sales than while I can't remember the last DD itme I had cancelled (2015 or 2016 maybe?) that wasn't either a major price error, OOP item, or long shot import I ordered knowing it might be 4 months before it was back in stock

The Making of Book is a nice bonus, but how muhc is it worth?

I can't tell what the outer box is -- is it a chipboard type case, I don't think it's s Steel Case thouhg that might make it a bit more of a Collectible. I'd guess this is almost certainly limited volume though at $100 it might limit itself
