Yeah, huge difference in the other caps. Not so much here (other than the compression of course). I suspect the earlier caps might have something going on. That's a big difference in brightness and color saturation if those earlier caps are accurate. In the earlier caps the Arrow looks quite dark and desaturated in comparison.

Kyle compared them to capsaholic's caps didn't he? So yeah, potentially lots of different settings in play. The Kino base layer is still pretty darned cruddy at times but it'd be good to have them captured by the same person with the same settings as the Arrow.

Yup, I compared with Caps-a-holic. I post mainly for detail comparison because color/brightness is so dicey in regards to HDR content. The Arrow disc is definitely darker but it's not as dark when I watch the disc. I still say Kino's has overbaked brightness going on though!

Even so, we've seen what happens when they compare their own caps of one release to another and they looked verr different for grain, only for Andreas' Cap Fu to show that there was nothing like such a difference (Groundhog Day).

It's just good to have like for like comparisons with the same settings, otherwise it can be verr misleading. I think SDR converted caps are inherently flawed anyway for obvious reasons, but it helps if the playing field is as level as possible when comparing one to another.

On the caps alone, I prefer the Arrow and Capelight grain structure. No major difference between them IMO.

The Kino looks worse to me, but I guess it would look ok if I wasn't comparing, so eh...

as i said in the international thread is quite weird that MaxCLL is 492 and MaxFALL is 1000, normally is the other way round (like capelight release). just a flag error?

Got my copy today and it’s simply beautiful. Avoided the Kino which was hard to do as this is a personal favorite film but it was definitely worth the wait. As a long time San Franciscan, the city looks beautiful again thanks to Arrow!

I enjoy the kino lorber release but I watch movies wrong.we talk-get up to use the bathroom grab a beer from the kitchen-chow on a pizza or some other food.i never notice if a leaf on a tree is the wrong shade of green.but that's just us.my friends are all movie lovers -we sat thru to many drive ins to be real picky
