So, early on in Primal Scream you see someone injecting themselves with an unknown substance. Apparently that was in the contract for all those involved in this....space-noir-giallo?
Honestly I hated it for about half of it, but the film did start to pick up some no-budget charm as it went on (once it abandoned any pretense of noir and giallo and focused on dilapidated city sci-fi). |

I watched Chaos last night and really liked it. It was a lot better than the reviews suggest, although it is, as Roger Ebert said, a cruel film. It was well made from both a production and performance standpoint.
It's a throwback to the exploitation shockers of the 1970s like I Spit on Your Grave and Last House on the Left but throws a curveball to viewers by setting itself up as a film like those and then ending on a provocative (and infuriating) note that defies the conventions of even shock cinema. The movie reminded me of Megan Is Missing, which, like Chaos, presents itself as a cautionary tale for parents but then wallows in depravity like the crass exploitation film that it is. If you see rape-revenge as a genre that likes to toss in a little revenge to compensate for the moral deficiency of its rape storyline, then you could make a similar case for movies like Chaos and Megan Is Missing that masquerade as PSAs. Not an uplifting film, but one worth checking out for fans of extreme horror, even though it doesn't have a lot of gore. (The gore that it does have, it's worth mentioning, is extremely realistic.) |

Yes I know, my apologies for that. It was taken down yesterday. Can't go into too many details but this same thing happened a while back when a 16mm print was being sold on eBay and the seller uploaded clips to Youtube.
Hopefully a miracle happens that this movie becomes more widely available. |

Project: Kill is a fun little action film shot in the Philippines. It's nothing special but does star Leslie Nielsen.
This time the trailers are for Black Angels (Which looks like a fun biker blaxploitation flick, it appears to be unavailable on DVD and BD) and Joe (I'm not entirely sure what this film was going for, it looks like Olive put out a BD). Cop Killers on the other hand is an absolutely mean-spirited exploitative, cocaine-induced paranoia road-trip. Last edited by gbm82; 05-15-2020 at 07:17 AM. |

Got my Corona 3-pac (plus a couple Code red titles I was missing) in the mail yesterday. Boy was I excited to watch Yeti: Giant of the 20th Century. I was not disappointed.
The blu-ray looks a little soft, but honestly it still looked pretty great to me. If you're interested in this one then you'll probably already know we're not talking classic cinema here and the story is one that's been told over and over for decades. It was great fun watching Mimmo Crao give it his all as the titular Yeti. The rest of the cast is serviceable and down right laughable at times. None of that really matters, Mimmo steals the show here. Kudos to Dark Force on the slip/blu artwork. Not a big slipcover guy here but one thing that is a must in my books - different artwork. Unlike most of the other slipcovered editions this one has different artwork. [Show spoiler] But now I have the music stuck in my head. Last edited by Coatchief; 05-15-2020 at 12:13 PM. |

I agree that would be ideal. I'd prefer to pick my own titles as well but since bundles seems to be the main method of discount with Darkforces I'm hoping I can get one with 2 titles I actually want.

Received my copy of Teenage Hitchhikers and will watch it tonight- watching for the first time. Also, why wasn't Sandra Peabody a bigger screen presence in the 70's? She really was great in Last House. Don't know why she gave up on acting so soon.

I am glad I held out on the last bundle because I really wanted Chinese Hercules but didn't think The Banker looked that interesting....love Primal Rage and glad to see it on Blu finally! Now if only there had been a three pack bundle with those two and Yeti...still need to get that one.
