It's safe to bet Walt would have wanted you to have the stereo version.
Then I simply misunderstood. I almost thought for a moment that you were opposed to mono soundtracks, because they were outdated, or something . I'm glad that's not the case.

It's starting to look like the rumors of this going back into the vault in January might be true. I just saw a commercial for this on TV and at the end it specifically said available for a VERY limited time. They've never used very before when talking about availability. If true, I wonder why they're vaulting it so quickly? To try to drive up sales even more? I know Snow White and Beauty and the Beast were only available for a few months when their Platinums first came out, but still. Very odd to see a return to this marketing strategy, again, if it's true at all.

Possibly cause they'll re-release both movies separately afterward. I just wouldn't be surprised cause that's exactly the way I wanted to buy them and fate will probably want to screw me over after I've bought this double feature release.

You know what, I don't even care if they are released separately soon after it goes back in the vault January. I highly doubt they'll be any better as far as PQ/AQ or extras, aside form separate packaging. But if they are, at least I'll only have paid $17.99 for both in this release, a price I doubt the re-releases could touch. That would ease the pain if I had to double dip.

Well, so much about the release changed so rapidly, from street date delays to revising the content (dropping the third "Fantasia World" disc, etc.), perhaps Disney realized they dropped the ball on bringing this to market with the excitement and event status usually reserved for the film, so perhaps plans are afoot for another go at the movie (perhaps in 3-D this time) in the next few years. There's got to be a reason the film has not been released as a Diamond Edition - I don't know what that reason is, but I do know that keeping Fantasia a "Special Edition" leaves the door open for new releases separate from the Diamond schedule. Disney released 1953's Peter Pan on DVD no less than three times within - what? Seven years? Maybe that's what the future holds for Fantasia.

It will include reward points, don't know the value yet. Personally, I have over 5000 points, but there isn't a damn thing in their catalog I want. It's almost all cheap plastic junk.

I posted this in the Hot-Deals forum, but since it's regional, there weren't many responses.... and BF deals buried it, but if you live in Ohio/PA and parts of WV I think.... where they have Giant Eagle grocery stores..... they had an ad where this was $26.99 making it $16.99 after coupon, and you get a $5 off coupon for your next visit (on anything.... but I'm guessing alcohol/smokes etc are excluded.... but I digress) so that pretty much brings the set down to $11.99

I've yet to find a better deal out there.

Can anyone post a screen cap of the Fantasia coupon? For some reason, I keep getting the message that my browser is unsupported but I've updated firefox and it still won't work.

Disneys Wow World calibration disk is a good choice.

Well, seeing as "Peter Pan" was squeezed in to plug the first Tinkerbell movie--
Yeah, as soulless cross-marketing plugs go, we might see Dumbo come back closer to the theme park attraction re-opening...
(That was the idea in the first place, to tie in with the announcement, but at least they've got a second chance once it's finished.)

...Yeah, especially that old expired Disney Treasures tin for 800.

(Although that and the Fireplace DVD were probably the only things I ever ordered from them, apart from a cute thumb drive.)

decided to cancel my Amazon order as I think everyone is right and it will be much lower than Amazon's $28.99 if I buy it at a brick and mortar store. I don't mind a few dollars but I think it will be about a $10 difference.

It's in a 4-Disc case similar to the one "Up" was packaged in and has a slipcover.
