There seems to be such a wealth of deleted footage from this movie. What I wouldn't give for all (or even most) of it crammed into a juicy deluxe edition. It's too bad the whole "who really directed it" thing seems to bog down the movie's legacy.

Cool!

But knowing Warner it will recycle the old extras.

And darn, almost 40 years old already.

I'm more left in awe at the paragraph ending in "Dick pre-"

From thedigitalbits today:

"It should be noted that Steven Spielberg’s Poltergeist and Michael Curtiz’s Casablanca also celebrate major anniversaries next year (the 40th and 80th, respectively), so consider those possible for release in 4K next year as well. (But note that I don’t have any kind of confirmation on those as yet.) Our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits has been updated accordingly."

Really?? LOL I'm firmly in the "this is probably a Spielberg film" camp, but Bill knows better than this...

TheDigitalBits happily printed this conjecture from one commentator in their recent Raiders of the Lost Ark retrospective, so where their preconceptions and clearest wishes lie are clear:

Tried to take it up with them, but met with silence of course. You can’t fight the figure leading some of the most commercial properties of the current era of film (translating to home video sales). He didn’t technically say anything wrong in this case, but just to counteract the slight Spielberg bias, here’s more images:

Hooper:

Oliver Robins:

EDIT: He changed it! There is some justice in the world.

Wrong thread. I'm sure DVR (or whatever he goes by now) would love to comment on your opinion. Don't deprive him.

I hope for a 4K UHD release with 5.1 DTS-HD MA tracks (just like with many 4K releases of the 80s films by Warner).
